I feel so bad when you mention cost. We never worry about that here in Canada. I have same pain and have lots of tests including ctscan at no cost. I think my endometriosis is back and that disease only shows with a laproscopy. Also a colonoscopy would be good to get as my endo was on my sigmoid colon. I was 21 then.

This happens to me as well!! And I've noticed its only when my boyfriend and I have sex in a certain position. What helps me relieve the pain is defecating. I feel as if his penis pushes something up against my anus!! Its horrible....have you tried going to the restroom? I feel that when I do the pain completely goes away

So i have had the same pain before like a couple months ago and now currently as i type, i am sitting in a bath which is not even dulling the pain! Ive been having pain with intercourse quite recently and this is now the second time this excruciating pain has come on. Does anyone have any insight at all? I am actually afraid to have sex again because it hurts to move let alone actually get up to walk around. I went to the hospital last time this happpened they said they didnt find anything went to a gyno nothing im glad im not alone in this but we need some answers

I have had the same issue several times a year and there seems to be no real consistency as far as time of the month, position, etc. I have had it hurt so bad I nearly throw my husband off of me in pain before he finishes and with each thrust it gets more and more painful! It is worse then childbirth. I can harly walk and nothing I do seems to help other then GAS-X pills. I take three or four extra strength and lay on a heating pad on my side. If I can fall asleep it is usually much better when I wake up but on the nights I can't fall asleep it will continue a little for a few days. It happened to me yesterday and was up a ton so today I still feel "off". I drank  some Mylanta and that seemed to help a little after two hours but the pain was horrible waiting!! I have learned that if I even start to feel discomfort during sex, get it done fast, because it gets worse fast! Good luck ladies. Dr's are no help at all.

MAGNESIUM, i just had the same thing happen and i took a product i use for menstral cramps its called  CALM magnesium powder, you mix it in water and almost instantly my pains went away.  There are other magnesium products you can use as well, but this one i got from a local organic health food shop.

I had the exact same symptoms caused by sex also, but no idea what causes it. It happens all the time for me and it's very frustrating. At first I thought it was caused by having to go to the bathroom "number two.." Or being constipated, but that wasn't it... Sorry I'm not more help but you're not alone..

It sounds like trapped gas take a few tylenol or ibprofens and try to move around to let the gas escape.

I have this about three times a year. Always comes after sex. The pain is far worse than labour pain and extends right up to the back of my throat. I've just decided that it's some kind of nerve pain due to disruption of the bowels / intestines.

I take ibuprofen as soon as it starts and then breathe through the pain like labour. Makes me sweat and feel faint too. Horrible

This is the exact pain that I feel and it happen right after sex. Ive had no real answer to what causes this pain. but I have ruled out sex. the pain is not worth the pleasure. please don't feel depress. I found that some yoga stretching can relieves some of the pressure but other then that. I try to keep still and ride it out.

I too was struggling with this same problem, every few months I would have an "attack" after intercourse. I would have shooting pains in my lower right abdomen and in my anus. I felt like I had to release some gas or go number 2 but when I tried to release the muscles to let anything out the pain would get much worse. I went to the ER and was basically told that it may be a cyst that had ruptured but they were unable to do an ultrasound at that time to know for sure.. I went the next day for an ultra sound and ovaries were clear. I have an IUD and the ultrasound tech thought that it looked out of place and thought that that may be causing the pain. I was referred to a gyno who checked my IUD and said it was where it should be. She suggested that the pain could be caused by my Pelvic Floor Muscles. She explained it as almost like a hammock of muscles that sit below the pelvis and hold everything up. Sometimes they get tensed up like the muscles in your shoulders for example. The pains had started for me after having my son, and she explained that when you do kegels this can further tense up these muscles. She said the pain was most likely caused by me tensing up my muscles (like you are holding in poo) and having a muscle spasm. These muscles should normally be relaxed unless you are lifting up something heavy, for example. There is actually a pelvic floor muscle that wraps around the anus and when it tightens up it constricts it. Which would explain why I felt like I had to poo but when I tried to release to let it out it was so painful. So anyways.... She sent me for Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy and after going a few times and learning to keep these muscles relaxed all the time, especially when having sex when I must have been subconsciously tensing up in anticipation of the pain, the pain has not returned!! This was already almost 2 years ago. I have been meaning to get on these message boards sooner to let everybody know what I have figured out. I hope this helps somebody. I got really lucky seeing the gyno that I saw.

I have been dealing with this issue for about 10 years and finally getting some answers. I too get sharp pain from my rectum to my pelvis. Right after sex. it is now to the point were I know when I'm going to have these pains. (Awful) it's called pelvic floor dysfunction. Allot of women who have intersystial cystitis(bladder problems) get these sort of pains. Mine is also due to endometrosis. I'm having a hysterectomy in July. I'm sick of this pain and want to enjoy being a newly wed. I hope this helps.
