For the past month i have been repeatedly getting sick after eating certain things. The first time it was spaghetti; once after that there was a time with unknown cause, and the last two times it was pizza hut pizza (extra sauce, half pepperoni, half sausage). One of the pizza times may also have been some doritos. A few hours after eating my stomach feels hard and starts to hurt. the pain gradually spreads to my lower ribs and eventually al the way around to my back. this hurts more than i can describe, its almost unbearable. two times have caused me to throw up. the first time it happened i threw up and instantly felt better. times 2 and 3 i took peptobismol but the pain seemed to last longer than the first time; just without throwing up. the last time is still happening but i took pepto this time also and threw up, but it still hurts a lot. is this just a really bad stomach ache or should i go see a doctor?

OMG! I have the same problem...I have spoken to 2 different doctors about it and neither of them seem to have any clue what it is. It always happens to me after eating the 2 same things you listed: pizza and spaghetti...so I typically avoid any tomato-based products as I'm assuming it has something to do with that. This has been happening to me since new years eve night of 2005. The pain is so severe I remember it perfectly every time. It has also happened to me once from a chocolate milkshake (I think that's what caused it, but I'm not sure) and once from A-1 Steak Sauce. My stomach starts to hurt at first and feel a little nausea, and then I get terrible rib pain which typically lasts about 6 hours every time. It sucks! I'm sorry this is happening to you!

Oh yes - I have been experiencing this terrible gut wrenching pain for about 1 year now. It began after eating a steak, then again after a steak. I had 10 hours of pain like my guts were twisting! I went to the doctor, she said I may be producing acid and recommended Prilosec. I bought the lesser price Omnipresole and it works! I take 1 pill and drink lots of water and within 15 minutes it eases up. The first time I did throw up - and it was really yellow - that is acid. So now I cannot eat steak (hard to digest), onion rings and maybe A1 Steaksauce I had tonight and got the same wrenching pain in my upper adomen. Really awful! But now in my mid 50's and producing extra acid says the doctor. Good luck and take care!
