Hi there. I do a lot of exercise, recently took up boxing (so to blame my problem on getting punched a lot would be wrong as I've only been hit a few times). I have noticed when I do rapid movements that involve my neck/head I get this sharp, almost throbbing, pain from the top of my neck, to all along my head (or brain) - but only on my left side. I am not sure if the reason is due to the jerking of my head when boxing or exercising. I am very worried as martial arts is a big part of my life and am concerned that this is something serious. When I jump about and jab, I begin to get the pain - it starts off very mild, then almost like it stays sore with my raised heartbeat. When I sit down for a minute it goes right away, but if I get up and begin moving about again comes straight back.

If this is any help I often suffer from stiff neck, nothing painful, just it can be uncomfortable to lie on a certain side etc. I also very rarely suffer headaches, maybe once a month.

Also, I live in the UK and use the NHS - meaning the quality of the service is awful and I will probably have to wait about half a year to get a referral to a neuro unit or whatever. So if you have any idea what this could be it would be helpful and possibily cut the time I have to spend with the bad service in the UK.

Thank you.
