you are all so young, but my mother who is 51 now has been having similar symptoms like all of you. it started about 2 years ago, we've been to all kinds of doctors. we did numerous mammograms, ultrasound, blood tests, xrays, heart specialists, etc. and they all diagnosed her with severe anxiety attacks and she takes Lorazapam, heart aspirin, and Clonozapam. which all help a little, but she gets these sharp pinching pains inside/under her left breast area along with chest hotness, shortness of breath, heart beating so fast, and her left arm and left leg start getting stiff, its like she's experiencing a stroke/heart attack, but we've seen two different heart specialist and they checked everything and her heart and veins are fine, no blood clots or anything - clean as a whistle. they thought it was menopause, but its not. she can't wear bras anymore b/c the fabric hurts her breast, its sensitive now since it all started happening, she can't lay on it without it hurting her. when she gets like this, the pain is so severe that she starts crying. her breasts exams were fine, her stomach and abdominal area exams came out fine. The doctors are at a loss, and everytime i take her to ER or her appt. they just say its her anxiety attacks and that she should just take her pills and just keep breathing and don't do stressful stuff or heavy lifting or be more happy and not depressed. So she did all of the above, but still it comes without warning and no reason, she's happy, she does gardening, doesn't do alot of stuff now and the pain still arises and hurts her so much. we've been to so many doctors to rule out different stuff and they just keep coming back and tell her in so many words that its just her anxiety attacks and that its all in her head!! we don't know what else to do or where else to go.

I had the same throbbing pain. It was more like something was cutting me. I thought it could be my bra and avoided using it. But it didnt help. So finally i ran it on google and found two major reasons... 1. Gas related & 2. Gallbladder related.
I first thought if its gas related it could be solved.... i tried this and now iam pain free. I mixed ENO to a glass of warm water and drank it in a sip. It seriously releaved the pain in a second. Use any gas releaving medicine and iam sure it will help.
If it still continues check with ur doc.

i too have been getting these pains recently. i am pretty sure they occur only right under my left breast and aren't directly related to any specific activity i do. they happen twice or three times daily, sometimes less, sometimes more. they are sudden, short, and sharp, and they go away after a couple seconds. i had my check-up at the doctor yesterday and everything is normal and i was at a cardiologist for a check up this morning (didn't mention these pains) and everything was perfectly normal...i even got the pains as i lay down a second before getting a sonogram on my heart, so i can assure you they aren't cardiac related. if anyone knows what they are, please let me know.

I am a 31 year old woman, who has been having recurrent chest pains for the past four years. They occur alongside my breasts. I have had numerous tests done, concerned these pains may be originating from the heart. The doctors that I have seen cannot conclusively find anything wrong. One attributed these pains to a possible series of muscle strains.
I have attempted to keep a journal of when these pains occur. As my doctor suggested, they do sometimes occur after a period of physical exertion. However, I have also noticed that they can also occur during times of emotional stress.
It is disheartening after so many years of having these pains that the doctors cannot definitively diagnose any specific cause for my chest pains. I am not under any medication. The good news is that these pains generally last between 10-30 minutes and I have discovered that aspirin and a small nap can help relieve the discomfort.

I am a 22 yr old female. Today I've had this pain for 13 hours now, pushing fourteen.
I remember first getting it and not being able to even stand up. I was quite young though I couldn't say for sure how young. No older than 12.
I can't think of any reason for it, I am not stressed and did nothing strenuous for the last few days. I do lots of sports so I'm in good shape.
If u were to guess I would say it's due to dehydration (what isn't), but it could be due to the menstrual cycle or due to being under weight. I also get brutal cramps and back pain but that is monthly and highly regular.
I am on the birth control patch and have been for a few years, but this problem goes back well before I began that.
I've been in denial over this for years and should go to the doctor. Unfortunately it is so unpredictable that it's hard to get there. Maybe just a consultation.
Had to sneeze twice and couldn't take in enough air to so it.

i am a 16-year-old girl and just started experiencing this pain today. it happened first thing in the morning as a sudden sharp stabbing sensation directly under my left breast. it lasted for about 10 seconds but the intensity of the pain scared me. i experienced it again at school when i was laughing. whenever i inhale deeply i feel the pain. i decided to google the pain and came upon this forum. i weigh very little- 87 pounds, and have extremely painful menstrual cramps. after reading all the posts i realized that im definately not alone in this! i also noticed that most people who posted were similar to me in either being skinny, or experiencing menstrual cramps. im going to try drinking lots of water to eliminate gas (if that's whats causing it) and dehydration. i really hope this is temporary!

Hi all,
I am not sure if you are describing the exact problem I have, but I experience a sharp, sudden, stabbing pain under my left breast that really scares me. Every time it happens I am literally shocked and can't move for at least a minute because the pain is so intense. It usually happens when I am laying down or sitting still for a long time (like at work). If you have this, you may want to look into precordial catch syndrome. I have had this pain for about 6 years now, and i have seen many doctors, and this is all I can come up with from my many internet searches. PCS is not considered harmful. My doctor did not give me a diagnosis but recommended yoga and some routine stretches, along with regular hydration and a full 8 hours of sleep every night. Regular exercise helps as well. I find that when I follow these basic healthy-living steps, I am far less prone to these painful attacks. The stress and pain is definitely made worse by the uncertainty and the sudden nature of the pain. I went to several doctors who performed ekg's, a chest xray, blood work, and several ultrasounds, and found absolutely nothing wrong with me. I hope this helps.

i am having extreme sharp stabbing pains right below my left breast and under the rib...hurts to breathe or move anything. i just freeze and the pain is so intense i usually yelp a little. i have had a very heavy feeling in my chest, shortness of breath even after simple tasks like getting ready or walking up a couple stairs and constant hard time catching my breath up. i started up a new birth control lo-estrin about two months ago, i had a breast reduction 6 months ago and thought it may possibly be related somehow... i also had a colonoscopy as well as a lower CT scan of my abdomen and lots of blood tests about 9mos ago due to rapid weight loss, extreme fatigue and overall weakness...NOTHING has been determined other than doctors for some reason like to tell me what i really feel and what i dont bc apparently they know my body and what this feels like better than I....

Dear All, not to be an alarmist, as there are many other reasons and I am not qualified in the medical arena, however some years ago, when I was 27, I woke up with a chronic pain under breast bone, couldn't breathe, went to er, they said it was stress, went to work the next day, was breathless and in pain, anyway to cut a long story short I ended up that evening in ICU with pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lung) !!!! It was as simple as that, no others symptoms, fortunately I made it, when you have 13 blood clots in the lung I believe it can be fatal. If unsure rather check it out. Best Regards

Ive been having this awful pain under my left breast, where the wire i my bra's rest.
I thought this was because of the bra wires, so I took them out and this didn't help at all.
I thought it was an ulcer, but my doctor doesn't think so.
It feels like someone punched me and im feeling the after effects, sorness and tenderness. It happens randomly. Ive been too the hospital for this, they have no idea either...
I need an answer, heh. Ive had this for 5 months now, and it gets worse every month. My doctor felt around and says "oh, your that tender there?? That's because you have a muscle swelling up under your chest plate, but im not exactly sure why."
What the hell? This is upsetting...
