What a relief in some ways. I'm 20 now, but I had this issue start when I was 16. I had to have some tissue removed from my left breast, and then have a silicon implant. A month after I was healed up I started to have brief sharp pains under my left breast. Over the course of the past several years these pains have worsened, but my mum never brought me to the doctor. These sharp pains last several minutes to hours lately and taking deep breaths make the pain worse. I thought I was the only one that experienced these pains!

I'm 14 and i get these shooting pains under my left breast which are very very painful but luckerly i get them very rarly and only at night when lying down but if i sit up then the pain seems to go pretty quickly but if it doesnt go i find breathing very quickly seems to make it stop but if i start to breathe normally again then it comes back so its not a very prctical approch but it is good if you cant handle the pain like me. Not sure if this will would for everyone maybe just me but if anybody else has another way of stoppng the pain or helping it fade paster please let me know.

I have had this problem as well mine was anxiety and it feels like your going to die I had a severe panic attack and though I was having a heart attack because my heart rate sky rocketed, you have to learn how to control it and know you are ok because if you start freaking out it just makes it 10x worse. they last from 10min to 1hr at a time and they can be intense. You have to find your stress relives and know how to control it. I sign or read out loud and even pray. Just be careful because if they get completely out of your control you can have a stroke from it and talk to your Dr. about the steps you can take to help with your symptoms and don't have caffeine it makes it 10x worse. Hope this can help.

I'm a 28 year old woman and get this pain too! I actually found this post because I googled the problem at work while having a particularly painful moment of sharp, throbbing chest pain.
After reading a bunch of info I found and thinking about my day and diet the best thing I can come up with is that this is an indigestion problem. I've had upper GI problems (that have gone unsolved) in the past, and now that I'm thinking about it I notice this pain does seem to come if I didn't eat well, or at all (skipping breakfast & lunch due to crazy work day, not talking about an eating disorder here).
I wonder if anyone else notices a similar trend? I'm popping a few tums and eating a protein bar. Crossing fingers it calms it because I feel like a rib might tear through my left boob right about now!
I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has noticed that this corelates to their eating habbits??

Helo, Im a medical student almost done with my education, and just to confirm I also get this same pain, on my Left side just under my breast and its thrubbing and knife like for 5-20 minutes, and it scares me a bit, but its definitley NOT the Gallbladder because gallblader is on the Right side along the right lower ribs and its at where you find your Liver aswell, and gallbladder pain is not on the left side like it was earlier described.
but if You notice the change of your breast, as the pain comes and goes along with your breast swelling up a bit or if your still in breast maturation, stress is also a hormonal factor that can irritate the are of the breast tissue and cause such pain. Definitly go to a doctor and rule out possible tumors, or other problems.
Good luck y'all
