My Sister in Law had whipple surgery last July for a pre-cancerous polyup in the top portion of the small intestine. She also had the gallbladder removed. She felt fine for about a month after the surgery, but ever since has suffered from nausea and has had two bouts of prancreatitus. She has lost over 20 lbs.

She has been hospitalized four times since the surgery at Sloan Kettering in NYC.

Her doctors don't know what is causing the nausea. They thought perhaps a duct leading from the pancras was blocked so they constructed another duct. After that surgery, she was nasuea free for about a week but it returned again. they also tried a regimen of injections in an attempt to calm down the pancreas I guess. That helped but didn't get rid of the nausea completly.

We are stumped and she is doing very badly, physically and mentally.

Would appreciate some input from any physician who has seen this kind of situation before. She is 62 years old and has always been very healthy and fit up to now.
