Has been diagnosed with Lupus 13 years ago and has been very lucky for not getting severe complications  especially to the kidneys. In 2002  multiple micro nodules in my lungs were found. They were too tiny to be biopsied so diagnosis was never reached until in 2009 a new  Rheumatology doctor arrived. My current doctor transferred to another hospital so l registered under the new doctor. After learning my medical history, he diagnosed that the mico nodules in my lungs is 'SZOGRENS ' I was placed on Prednisone and nodules have reduced in number, MD in X'RAY WROTE ON REPORT THEY ARE WANING AND WAXING ".nodules.

This year, on CT minimal scarring/atelectasis was noted on the left lobe. Also cortical scarring of bilateral kidneys was noted.

Would the scarring/atelectasis continue to recur ?

Is a urine test to check for presence of protein  necessary and if yes, how often ?

Thank for feedback.

Hi Ofeabi,

The scarring in the lungs is a result of the nodules.  Just like your skin, as the lung tissue heals it can leave scarring.  There shouldn't be an increase in scarring unless more damage is occurring.

Yes on the urine test.  It helps the doctors determine how well they are functioning.  Most doctors would probably repeat them at about 3-6 month intervals.  It really depends upon your history.  Ask your doctor.

Hope it helps, good luck.
