Hey everyone,
I’ve noticed very small red lumps on the top of my tongue. I'm a 17 year old male and I discovered this lumps few days ago. First I found only a couple of them but now there's 8-9 of them. They are not so huge but I can see and feel them. Could it be something like tongue cancer or what else could be? Please help I’m really worried about this :-(

I get something that sounds similar after eating really salty foods (potato chips, pretzels, etc.). Usually they show up the next day and really hurt. They go away after a few days of eating non-salty foods.

If they don't hurt are somewhat sensative, odds are they're irritated(inflamed) taste buds that were provoked by something you ate or did (sometimes specific sexual activities will cause this.) After a few days they should go away. I don't believe its cancer unless they are pale/white and resemble something of mushrooms or Cauliflower

I have the same thing! But I only get one. They are always at the tip or side of my tongue. O wait, I just discovered a second one. I'm pretty sure they are irrated taste buds but my grandma said they were from not pooping. I belive the taste bud things. I always get them after eating peanut butter and/or polish sausage. I just don't eat them as much as I used. :P :P

i have that same thing.
I did research and its not any kind of std's or cancer.....
So i dont think we have much to worry about.
I was said that maybe you burned you tounge or just some enlarges taste buds that you've never realized before :/

im fourteen years of age and i have been having pains at the back of my throat when i swallow. it has been happening every now and then for the past couple of weeks but hasnt been for this long and it is pretty painful. i looked up tonsilitis but i know i havent got it due to the symptoms i do not have but recently i have looked in the mirror and found that i have many bumps/lumps at the back of my tongue. they arent huge but its starting to worry me. do you think it could be from allergies? or something serious? :-)

yesterday i frequently looked in the mirror becuz i found bumps at the back part of my tounge, which i have never had before... im just wondering why and what caused it, i am not allergic to any foods, i had my wisdom teeth out in august..... and plus right now i have a cold... :S:S:S:S:S.... does a cold have anything to do with it? I might also have strep throat.... but i seriously dont think that would cause it, would it

i havent kissed anyone and it most likely is NOT mono, yesterday and saturday, what i ate was the usual pizza pop, for lunch [sat] and sunday i ate some stuff my uncle gave me.... its a little worrysome cuz i dont know what caused it :S , buut if you guys know please reply...

I have one bump and was wondering what it was. thanx for the info. I got the bump after eating a sandwich.... there are a lot more red spots but they aren't bumps.
