I have the same problem and can't put it down to the type of alcohol I am consuming , my wife suggests an eye test but I am not so sure its an eye issue.Hopefully someone knows the answer apart from quitting the booze!

Try sticking to Blue Moon if you're a beer drinker. I had the same problem with my eye. My legs would even swell. When I drink Blue Moon I'm fine. I believe it has to do with how the beer is processed and your body possibly having an allergic reaction. Total solution don't drink:-)

I suffer from the same issue, and it has been happening for the last twenty years. Only ever so often. Always my left eye. And, only after a night of drinking, and having a few cigarettes too. The pain is severe. My eye and nose waters.

I am 58 and started having swollen eyes about 5 months ago. I've discovered I have contact dermatitis, but have eliminated all products with my allergens. My left eye continues to swell, and I suspect it's related to alcohol consumption. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person with this issue! I will stop drinking to see if the eye swelling resolves, which will confirm my theory.

Hi. Recently I have been drinking wine (natural sweet red) and everytime I do my left eye becomes irritated almost immediately, well after the first few sips. Could I be reacting to the wine or is it something else and the wine is just a coincidence? Please help

I only get this awful sharp pain in my eye when I drink an excessive amount of alcohol.
Its a stinging pain on the top lid, even when i flush it with water or eye drops the pain smdoesnt seem to go away. It lasts for at least 6 hours. But the strange thing is its only the left upper lid. Never the right. So perhaps there was some previous damage to the left eye that becomes aggravated through dehydration. Maybe the fragile skin that protects the cornea becomes torn, because thays how excruciating the pain is.
