I'm going to the doctor's office this Friday to see about my results of the holter monitor test, I will keep you guys posted as I promised in the prior posting. Meanwhile, please try not to panic or get yourself worked up. I'm still having them and I have to keep a level head because the more
worried I get the more they happen. Seems food does trigger it a little but it feels like it's coming from my heart (Spasm). Like anyone who's feeling a weird sensation in their hearts it's a bit scary. I'll know more about this holter test and I'm going to request they  give me the results in paper to get a second opinion on what is going on here. I wish each and everyone of you a warmer New Years and a year of comfort to our conditions. God bless you all.

I've been reading this and the first thread over... I've done a search before out of curiosity but didn't post anything. I JUST had one of these "attacks" and got up, did a search and finally decided to post my experience tonight.

It comes in varying degrees of strength from small but noticeable to the kind that really gets my attention and makes me jump and gasp for breath, and can be uncomfortable afterward. And they last about as long as it takes for an eye lid to blink.

The later happened tonight.

It doesn't feel really great afterward, nor am I feeling too great either. It's always in the center of my chest, in the middle of my sternum, behind it and not quite deep enough to be cardio. Also, I will add that it is fleeting, the feeling fading slowly but quickly enough like a muscle spasm sensation would. But I have a kind of...idk, a weak? feeling in my chest afterward. Adrenaline and fear doesn't help either, so the heart beats suddenly stronger and faster.

It's been about maybe 15-20 minutes since it occurred and the sensations of discomfort are slowly fading, but I still in general feel not so great. I have had heart palpitations before and I'm fearing they have gotten worse, but this spasm feels different and didn't start until maybe 3-4 years ago...about the time I went to the ER after nearly passing out on the bus headed to school. Doc said it was a "panic attack". But these spasms have been going on since about then. Anyway, they took EKG and xrays of my chest. Everything was fine. There is also heart disease on both my mother and father's side of the family but everyone so far except my mother seems to have no issues (so far). Also, Ive been under a lot of stress the last 7 years - much of which is out of my control. AND I've not been sleeping great, which doesn't help either.

I'm taking a lot into consideration what it could be, but there are so many of us experiencing nearly similar "attacks", then there must be some particular reason for it.

It's been about 30-35 mins now and I'm a little feeling better. I'll probably be much better when I wake up tomorrow. Oh, and don't laugh... Now I'm burping too lol I wasn't before then.

Hmm... Im thinking maybe it's about time to go see my doctor... Great :-/

Oh! Out of curiosity, does this this make people's left arm feel weird and kinda weak? Just curious... Could be my stomach throwing pains/discomforts again. It's not happy either lol

Thanks for listening/reading!

Ong I'm having the exact same symptoms!! For just over a year now. Started last January, same thing, pretty much blacked out in a shopping canter, went to hospital and they said it was anxiety/panic attack and now I get them in and off, pretty much monthly. It's especially worse just before my period. Blood work came back normal. Have done all sorts of scans and X-rays and everything is normal. But they still scare the c**p out of me!! If anybody has ANY idea what it is, please pleeeease let me know. It's ruining my life. :(

Glad I found this post!  I'm a 28-yr-old female--who's not in the best of shape8-| --but I've had panic and anxiety issues for the past 14 years.  About six months ago, my doc changed my meds, and I haven't felt "right" since.  I'm much more prone to panicking now like I was back as a teen, and I haven't felt like that in YEARS.  Anyway, the past several months, I've been having "flutters."  No pain involved, it just feels like my heart is maybe either skipping a beat or adding one, I can't really tell.  But right under my throat, I feel a flutter a few times throughout the day.  I do notice they increase if I'm anxious or have had caffeine.  Hopefully, once we figure out the right dosage/meds I should be one, I won't have them at all or as much.  But just today, actually, I started feeling some spasms in my chest like right around my left breast area where my heart is.  Again, no pain, it just feels like an actual muscle twitching.  My heart rate's fine, so I'm trying not to get anxious about it, but I'm wondering if that is also stress related because I do have some stressful things going on that I'm constantly thinking about.  Sound familiar to anyone?

That sounds very much what happened to me, I would feel this pain in my chest almost like a cramp then all of a sudden I felt like I was blacking out, I had ringing in my ears, funny taste in my mouth this lasted maybe for 3-4min, but was very very scary. I thought I was having a heart attack and was going to die right there and then. But just as fast as it came it left, and everything was normal except for the cold fear that was still in my bones.

My doctor thinks that it is a spasm in my lungs caused by irritation, (I am fighting some kind of flue bug at the moment) the spasm constricts the blood flow to the brain, causing the blacking out.

He feels that it was not a heart attack since I felt normal right afterwards and I didn't have crushing pain.

I am a pretty healthy guy, but I have been going through a lot of stress lately and I mean heavy stress coming at me from all sides..

I am convinced that this is stress related. I hate to admit it but maybe it was an anxiety attack?

I am 15 year old female. I have been reading through all of these stories and some sound the same and others not at all!! It happened today for the first time and my parents have the whole "toughen up y'all be right" motto. So with little things I just leave. But today was the first time and I am freaked out but this. Ok so I was just sitting in class not doing anything strenuous. And i felt a weird wiggling/beating feeling in my middle/upper chest. It felt a little like a pressure being rippled in one spot over and over. My breathing went funny for like a few second and then nothing. I was just like right..? I forgot it and went on with my day. Then again it happened this afternoon. Yet again it stopped fast so i forgot it. I am now home and i came and lay on my bed and it started again. This time it didn't stop. It goes really softly then hard, soft then hard etc. Each time it gets harder a little pain comes with it. My breathing is deep but not too different.
I just want to know what should i do and is it bad??
Yeah so if you bothered to read all that ^
please help!!

I have been having these indescribable sensation for almost five years now. I am 27/F now but they began when I was 22 during the holiday season while I was away from my family. The way I describe it is that it feels like something is sucking the air out of my lungs for a split second, followed by hours of anxiety and difficult breathing. I went to the ER four times during a single week, without any insurance because I was so terrified. I wore a heart monitor and was out of work for about a month. I began to take anti anxiety meds (zoloft) which did absolutely nothing to help my symptoms. Unfortunately the only thing that ended up taking the sensation away was drinking several glasses of wine every night, although the symptoms would return during the next day. I self medicated this way until recently when I found out I was pregnant, I think the extra hormones have also contributed. Obviously I cannot drink anymore to relax myself and my symptoms have returned stronger than ever. I have also noticed that the feeling usually happens a few minutes after a meal, leading me to finally find this thread and relate it to acid reflux or esophageal spasms. What a relief, my boyfriend and family ket telling me it was in my head, but it is too scary of a feeling to ignore.

I too have recently just started feeling the "cell phone" ripple in my left chest. i couldn't tell if it was my breast or under my breast.  Finally determined it was right under the left breast bone.   Had an EKG, but everything was normal.  About 4 weeks ago had allergy, irritation of throat into my lungs that was scratchy and made me cough.  That went away and then have heartburn and acid reflux.  Still have that, so have backed off of eating bread, caffeine, etc., not as much as usual, but not starving either.  The cell phone is light, and only lasts for a few seconds.  Get it about 7 or so times a day, usually at rest (sitting at my desk, or walking normally.)  I will try the prilosec for 14 days.  Just started today.  I'll see if that helps.  Never had acid reflux before and certainly no "cell phone' issues.  I'll try not to freak out when it happens and maybe it will go away. If not, I'll mention this site to the gastro doctor.

Hello to everyone :)

I also have had these symptoms, a sort of wierd bubbly feeling just below the area of my left pectorial muscle, and i does seam pretty random, i have had it standing, sitting, lying down... with stress, no stress.... but i did notice that these symptoms did apear since i started eating a handfull of cashew nuts everyday (and a Vitamin B3 500mg supplement) in wich case it did lead to some mild IBS for a while. The reason for eating the cashews and taking a vitamin supplement, is because i and trying to cure myself from a one a and half year case of depression, anxiety and panic attacks. Cashews contain a large amount of Vitamin B3 (niacine) and has been proven to cure even severe cases of deep depression. So i guess from these symptoms, and considering my diet, i dont believe this would be someting to worry about, but i would recomend visiting a Doctor to run tests, and hopefully see a Nutritionist to talk about a undelying anxiety problem and how it can be treated with the right nutrients.

I highly recomend watching a Documentary called "Food Matters", it really is a "Eye Opener"

Im a 33 year old, male, in pretty good shape, i try to exercise almost everyday (mostly weight lifting and HIT), Since im from Portugal i am currently eating a daily a health mediterranean diet, taking B3 (niacine) and B6 vitamin, sometimes i even take a multivitamin also as a bonus :)  and i have noticed pretty good improvements, and i do hope to recover in the long run.

The things i do need to stop doing is: Smoking and to much cafeine... but one step at a time and i eventually will  :)

But i hope everyone watches Food Matters Documentary.... It will change your life and one day you can pass it on!!

Best wishes to all :)
