Hello ALL!
I have an answer for you, its called Interstial Cystitis my GYN diagnosed me with it about 10 years ago and I went to dr after dr who made me crazy. There are things that trigger flare ups and it makes you feel like you have a UTI every day and you can have muscle spasms and leak urine. Burning, pain etc. I also have endometriosis which makes it worse but look up IC and follow the IC diet. I take Elmiron three times a day and drink LOTS of water! :-D

I have been dealing with this problem for years as well. It started with what I thought was an overactive bladder so my urologist put me on Enablex. That helped with the pressure on my bladder but the urethral pain would still come and go. I gave up drinking soda and tea and increased my water consumption but all that did was make me have to pee every 20 minutes. A low dose of ativan seemed to help for awhile but several weeks ago the pain was so intense I could have just cried. It felt like an ice pick and the pain would not stop. The only thing that helped was sitting in a reclining position on a heating pad and taking ativan and motrin. I have been tested for everything and I'm sick of being tested for uti's that always come back negative. My urine always test positive for blood and wbc''s. When I'm on my feet for long hours the pain gets worse - and I work 12 hour shifts. I am scheduled for a cysto and am praying my urologist will see something but I'm sure he won't. I think it is interstitial cystitis but the doctors blow my off saying there isn't enough research to diagnosis the problem as such. It's good to know others have the same problem as I was beginning to think I was nuts.

I finally found out what is wrong with me, my uroligist did a cystocomy and couldnt find anything, didnt think it was IC he called me a mystery, so one week before I was suppose to go see him again, I went to my gyno. He found that my uterius and baldder and rectom are all prolapseing. He sent me to a physical therapst and they are teaching me exercies to strength my muscles down there and it is working. I have been doing them since last nov. 2010 5 day a week and this week I have had no set backs. I feel really good. You have to learn how to pick things up cough and several other things. Just make sure you hold everything tight down there when you do stuff. Do kegals. I had three big babies and other stuff. He also gave me estrogen cream to insert to help also. It takes about six months to really work. Hopefully I keep getting better and wont need surgery. I hope this helped.

It sounds to me like you guys are describing is interstitial cystitis(which is not really one disease but is many lumped together as one because it is not well enough understood)

You might need to tell your doctor that you think you have this if they aren't aware of it as an illness. If you want to try non-pharmaceutical solutions try avoiding inflammatory foods( and eating more garlic, drinking more green tea, and getting a healthy amount of omega-3s (these come from fish, try to be aware of the sustainability of the fish you eat AND the mercury content!)

Here's a good run down on anti-inflammatory diets.

I'm not a doctor, just a bio major, but I hope this helps. Good luck.

Have u ever tried a product called Ausilium? It may really help you. You have no other than entering in BESTFROMNATURE and in there you can easily find it.
It's based of D-MANNOSE + MORINDA CITRIFOLIA which better knwon as Noni because it strengthens the immune system of your body.
These two natural elements helped me a lot and some other women suffering from this terrible pain.

Do not use tea tree oil internally because it increases the pain and the burning sensation. You should use it when itching is external or internal in vagina and you put 5-10 drops in the bathtub or in the bidet (if you have it) when washing during the morning or in the evening your vagina.

For urinary tract infections issues you should rather consider to use AUSILIUM. Have a look at it.

Frens

Hi everyone, I am happy to say that my exercises and estrogen cream are working. I do my floor exercises 5 time a week, it takes about a half hour. But I have been pain free for 3 weeks now. I was in so much pain before, I thought i had utis, and then the urologist does the cysto, on me and finds nothing and doesnt think I have IC tells me I am a mystery. So when I go to the gyno and he tells  me my uterious, bladder and rectom have all prolapsed and you think how can this cause all the pain. But  when he did the exam and pushed everything in place and it quit hurting so bad. I was in so much pain before that I would get the shakes and do nothing but cry. The exercises are easy to do. I hope this helped.

Hi All. I have read this entire thread and hope to add a few things that might help someone. I am only discussing what helped me.  Could be a freak, I dunno.  First, my history. As a young woman (12-14) I had terrible, recurring UTIs. Ended it all when I got a dilation of the urethra.  Then, when I became sexually active, I got infrequent re-occurences.  I had good remission of the whole mess from about ages 30-56. Then one of the joys of aging has been a resurgence.  I talked my doctor into supplying me with pyridium and Bactrim to use at the earliest twinge. My routine was, feel a twinge, take a pill. Twinge gone, no more pills this worked reasonably well for years. I still urinated more at night than most women, but no pain unless I held it too long. My relative peace recently ended with a trip to Egypt where I got terrible diarrhea, took antibiotics for it, starting with two Bactrim (because I had it). I noticed that a terrible UTI was also developing. I had to go on a Full course (10-14 days) of Bactrim before I could say goodbye to intermittent doses of pyridium. I ate yogurt like crazy because I felt that my delicate bug balance was ruined by Mogarat's Revenge and its treatment. I quit drinking soda and alcohol.  I drank a glass of water every hour until bedtime.

Long story short, I was left with strange pain after voiding that I knew in my bones wasn't infection--mostly because I'd been on antibiotics for almost a full month. I had a realization that my poor urethra was TIRED AND SORE from all the chemicals and the constant voiding. Not to mention overly damp from it all. It was terrible overnight.  Just very painful.

So I cut my water down to 8 glasses, cut myself off from this ritual at noon, too. Next, I soothed my pain with baby powder (this helped A LOT) and heat from my laptop (placed a bit lower than normal). I was really surprised about the baby powder.  I think it kept my poor urethra from being irritated by all the dampness, also, it's soft and soothing down there. I really believe that all the chemicals began to hurt rather than help and that my system is trying to gain a balance. I don't have pain right now but it's still a bit tingly down there.

For what it's worth.

I have had the exact problem it's a pressure burning stabbing pain thats so hard to explain to a doctor. I'm constantly burning and when I pee it hurts and then the pain spikes when I'm done. Sex is almost impossible with my husband because the pain is soo bad. Sometimes it worse then other days. and sometimes it's so bad I can barely get out of bed. I have had this for going on 2 years straight now and I keep getting treated for UTI's and Yeast infections to no avail. I googled my symptoms and the closest thing I have found for it was Interstitial Cystitis. and It fits and to the people who are dosing themselves with cranberrys and vitamin c if you have this disorder that is the main irritant of it so you're only hurting your self I think this is what I have but I don't have insurance yet to get it confirmed from doctor. I hate this it has changed my life I am constantly depressed because I cannot be intimate with my husband and am in constant pain I wish there was a cure for this.

I found out my uteris is prolapsed which in turns make my bladder prolapesed, my rectum is also prolapsed. With my uteris pressing down on my bladder, it makes it feel like I have a uti, my urine doesnt come out all it once like it should, it stops and starts because of it being squished. and it feels like a uti when I need to have a bowel movement also. I am doing exercises on the floor to tighten my muscles down there and it has helped. I do have some good days, then I have some bad days. my dr. is having me do this to see if it can fix my problem because he will have to do a hysterectomy. Have you had your dr. check for these things? I went to an urologist and he did a cystoctomy and couldnt find anything wrong with me and he told me I was a mystery, he didnt think I had IC.Thats when I went to my obgyn and he found all the prolapeses, I asked the urologist if anything could be prolapsed and he said no. So get a second opionion

I had recurrent urinary tract infections during 4 years. I tried all kinds of antibiotics, they gave temporary relief but then pain in the end and after urination came back. I tried to drink PARSLEY tea (boiled parsley) 2 cups per day - in the morning and in the evening. It helps me a lot. The frequency of my infections has decreased and I am almost free of pain during and after urination. I had stabbing pain after urination and it has almost resolved. May be you have also good experience with herbs. Post it, please!

Hello everyone. I have been very sick for the past two months. I was peeing blood, and my urine was very thick and strong. I went to the emergency room and they told me that I had a very bad UTI infection. So they gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way. That was two months ago. I am feeling very tired, and weak along with this throbbing, and as soon as I have the feeling to urinate it starts the throbbing and so much pressure. I hate using the bathroom. :( I am so tired of feeling sick. No insurance to see the DR all the time. When I urinate it throbs and burns and then itches like crazy. I feel I have a heart beat down there. And as if all that is not enough agony, the feeling to urinate again comes right back. I get scared to leave the bathroom. I get afraid from the throbbing, that if I do have to urinate it will just come out and I will not be able to control it. It is so very embarrasing. DANG! What in the world is wrong with ME? Does anyone else feel tired and weak with this too? I can not take this anymore. :( I do not know what to do. I have two daughters to take care of and this is slowing me way down. Well, I had a very painful morning and I have just decided to take another trip back to the emergency room. I hope that I get some kind of answer. Good luck everyone. Take Care bye
