the only things that immediately helps is ibuprophen 800 and water these both take down inflammation which is what causes the throbbing
find something thats is an anti-inflammitory!!!
you can get these by complainig about cramp sor w.e to your doc they are always good to have around just in case

Hi! My daughter is 13 and has been dealing with this for the past 2 years. We are on our 6th dr. They started out treating for yeast infections and then gardeneralla which is a bacteria. She has seen 2 urologists both have preformed bladder scopes. They removed a large diverticulum from her urethra she had a catheter for 3 weeks and had no symptoms. Within 2 days of removing the catheter the burning and itching returned. We are no seeing another urologist who performed a scope , video dynamics study and MRI. My daughter is now also experiencing a stabbing urethral pain. My heart is breaking for her, her quality of life is not good right now. She has had to quit competitive cheer, can't ride a bike or go out with friends without being in pain. She is currently on independent study for the end of 7th grade because she can't concentrate in school. She has been on Vicodin, Tylenol with codeine neither help! She has tried 2 types of bladder spasm Meds and cymbalta for chronic
Pain. Nothing helps. If she gets in the pool or puts ice tgat will help with the burning/itching. We are at such a loss and so are the drs.

I had this n took a whole years for doctors to figure it was pelvic floor disfunction. How they explained it is that muscle internally spasm hitting nerves that run as shooting pain through uretha. Did pélvic floor physical Therapy n it is gone now. Hope it helps others.

After reading all of these comments It makes me feel so much better to think I'm not the only one who has this pain! Years and years iv been going to the doctors and they say it is just a uti. The pain effects everyday life! The only thing that makes mine go away is water. If the pain becomes unbearable I have to take half an hour out to drink tones of water to flush my pee out and after that the pain goes away. So anyone who is reading this and has tried everything.... Drink at least 1 ltr of water! it's the best feeling ever

Did they ever find out if there was an underlying cause for her pain? I'm suffering from this as well and have no answers but to see a peliv floor soecialist. If you can please help I would appetic it.

I don't know if your daughter has been checked for interstitial cystitis but I am 22 and have just been diagnosed with it. I have had very similar symptoms as her. I am now taking elmiron to help with the pain...it has worked pretty well. I am going to another urologist for a second opinion. Good luck!

This is probably mycoplasma genitalium!! There is no tests for it, but it's a new sdt.. they go by your symptoms and if nothing shows up on tests.. You take Zpac and should cure it!

It sounds like she has interstitial cystitis I have that : it's when you have a inflammation of the bladder and no infection . See a urologist there are treatments out there and a lot of prayer can go along away pray for Jesus to heal her and thank him for doing it already

I have that occasionally, when I have a kidney stone. The intensity is directly related to the size of the stone and the stone is not in my urethra but higher close to my kidney. The lower it gets on its way out the pain actually becomes less. Weird and my doc dont get it either.
