I know this is going to sound completely crazy, this happened to my daughter also. Awakened in the middle of the night in excruciating pain for months. Come to find out she had gotten pin worms, not sure from where but they or what they are. According to the Dr. anyone can get them, and they are usually ingested without knowledge ( nail biting is the most common), they live/thrive in the intestines & exit the rectum at night ( I know it's insane), but they sometimes lose their sense of direction and travel to the vagina. This causes severe pain. I can assure you I have seen them with my own eyes (I won't go into details), but I did what the Dr said to do & check in the middle of the night and sure enough there they were!!! Solution was a one time pill, but everyone in the house had to take it because they can be passed very easily!

I have had this problem off and on since I was 15, recently experienced for the last 4-5 weeks with a week of no symptoms in between. I believe triggered by stress. In desperation after yet another clean urine test, I took a tiny dab of doTerra brand Melaleuca (tea tree oil) and carefully put it directly on my urethral opening. It did not burn, actually it was a cooling feeling. I did it one more time before bed and this morning I had zero pain! I am drinking a lot of water as well, can't entirely give up coffee but have cut back.

Did you ever figure out the cause of her pain? I have endometriosis and adenmyosis and had to have a hysterectomy because it got so bad. Sharp stabbing pain in my bladder and vagina as well as cramping down low were my symptoms. I pray and hope that she is feeling so much better now!!!!!!! God Bless

I'm sixteen and I have had these. When I was younger, in third grade, I had my first UTI and there was blood clots everywhere (sorry but truth). A couple years ago in february of 2015, I had an ovarian cyst and had to be taken to the emergency room because I fell to the ground screaming in class it hurt so bad. When I got an ultrasound to see what it was(before we knew it was a cyst) the tech discovered that I can't tell when my bladder is full. She kept pushing on it with the probe, as it was extremely full, and i didn't feel like I had to pee. Apparently the nerve endings in my kidneys and bladder don't whatsoever. About a year ago I started getting those sharp pains and I couldn't really pinpoint where it was coming from so I just figured I had another cyst and it would go away eventually and all would be fine again. Man was I wrong. I kept on getting the pains every so often but didn't tell my mom for a long time because they hurt really bad at first but were dull and seemed minor. I eventually told her as they became more frequent and the pain increased. She has a medical background and wasn't sure what it could be. For a long time I thought it was from my vaginal opening( sorry if that grosses you out.) but just recently I had a very sharp pain in class and figured out that it wasn't my vaginal opening at all but from my urethra. I haven't had the ability to go to the doctor at all since the cyst back in february. For two years I'd been researching the wrong part of my body so If it hurts in that area and you don't know where it is, research both! I will be going to some sort of doctor soon and hopefully we will all get some answers. Good luck everybody.

Could be kidney stones lodged in the urithia.i had the same problem. A urologist is best to see. I had kidney stones 6 times that were too big to pass. To be safe see a urologist.

So, I’ve been experiencing the same exact symptoms (frequent urination, burning before, during and after urination as well as the stabbing while sitting) I lived in Hawaii at the time of th occurrence.

My fiancé drove me to my physicians office one night after work thinking that I had a UTI because of the pain and found out that I had a ruptured ovarian cyst. So we were sent to the local ER instead.

Get to the ER and was told that I do in fact have a UTI plus a ruptured cyst. I ended seeing a GYN, Urogynocologist and a Gastrointestinal physician. Had so many tests ran all to end up on top of the burning urethra, I know have ulcers because of the medications they put me on.

This pain is horrible. I drink water like I’m a freaking camel and it’s STILL not enough to take the sting away. 100% Cranberry juice by ocean spray is usually my “go to” when I have these symptoms (I have a history of UTI’s) but this go round it hurt more than it helped. I literally dug my nails into my thighs when I use the restroom and cry.

The only thing I can say helped the burn was aloe that I add to my water, but I have to drink it all day. Soda, don’t think about it. Juice, nope! Milk, doesn’t seem to have that effect but geesh... Can someone please help!!!

It’s been about two years dealing with this and sex sometimes is a no go because of the throbbing, stabbing and aching pain.

I feel like I’m never going to get better, feel better and actually go back to functioning like myself.

I was actually thinking of something similar being that we lived in Hawaii and swam in multiple different beaches around the island. This is so possible and scary.

You should have never posted this because with herpes you have to first have an outbreak and then after you have that outbreak then these symptoms might happen!

Hi, I recently had a uti and thought I'd be able to sort it my self by drinking water by the gallons. This didn't work and it got worse so I eventually went to the doctors and she prescribed me trimethoprim. Felt a lot better and the burning subsided and but felt it hadn't cleared the infection completely so she gave me another dose. Since this uti around 5-10 minutes after peeing I have like a sharp pain down below and it'll usually go after around half hour but It does make me scared to go to the toilet. I've googled absolutely everything and I've not seen anyone seem to have similar symptoms to myself? I only drink water now and it doesn't seem to be getting better. Some days it's worse some days it's not as bad but it's still definitely there. Can somebody please help me? I don't think it's interstitial cystitis eother
