Do you have any other symptoms?? I mean, what you described may be caused by several things but I think that the most common one is an Impetigo - superficial skin infection which is very contagious. Even though it is seen mostly in children adults can have it too. It is usually caused by staphylococcal infection although streptococcus pyogenes can be the cause too. If so, the application of topical antibiotics such as mupirocin cream or ointment (Bactroban) is very effective. Fusidic acid can also be0 used. Hope this helps.
