I've been on Cerzette for a year now after my doctor decided that being 33 and a smoker was not good for a Marvelon user. With Marvelon, i was as clockwork as you could be, Thursday afternoon every 4 weeks. Since being in Cerazette, i've bled for pretty much the entire time, ranging from heavy to stupidly light, but only have a few clear days before coming back on again. I've spent a fortune on 'feminine' products. My main reason for the pill was to NOT fall pregnant again and in that respect it is working, but Now i have decided to get sterilised. Whilst waiting for this to be arranged, i have decided to come off Cerazette and go back to the periods i had when i was 15. Yes 10 days of heaviness, but i'd rather have that every 4 weeks, than every day for a year. I've also had problems with NO sex drive and bad skin, so i would not recommend this pill to anyone. Seems like everyone is having issues with it.

Just thought I'd share my story too:

I've taken various forms of the pill for the last 8 years or so (since the age of 13) due to heavy periods more than anything else. I'd always been quite regular on all other pills and then had a migraine with an aura so was prescribed cerazette. My GP told me this is the only progesterone (sp?) only pill that has a 12 hour window to take it in so I agreed to take this one instantly! I had pretty much continuous periods for 3 months and then they stopped altogether.

Now I'm 18 months down the line, came off it 4 weeks ago and have only had light spotting for one day since. Given the severity of periods before I came on the pill this is absolutely nothing! I too am stressing a bit - I hope this hasn't affected my fertility. Does anyone have any info on conceiving as a 21ish year old after being on it?

Thanks!

Hi i just wanted to share my story too! I have been on cerazette for the last 5 years following having a heavy period for 3 days every week my Dr advised me to go on cerazette with at the start double dose working down to single dose. My husband and i decided we wanted to ttc so i came off the pill one month ago thinking hopefully it wont take too long to get back to normal. Especially as if i ever missed a pill i would start bleeding. I came off 4 weeks ago and still nothing! I too have all the symptons such as bloated stomach, sore breasts, terrible sharp abdominal pain, tired, a dread of going to work because feel quite emotional. Pregnancy test negative. Now im worrying i think this will delay a possible bleed too so trying my hardest not to get concerned but had no idea it could take up to 1 year!! Feel deflated by it all really! The worst thing is i always felt amazing and am not used to feeling like i am! It seems this is all normal tho having read all the other posts???

I have been on cerazette for a year and a half almost, after the first month i had a normal period and since then i havent had a normal period. If i would forget to take it for a few days i would get a light bleed. But around 3 months ago i got a bleed for about 3 weeks but it was really light and just lasted for ages. I thought i was pregnant or something because it was really unusual. I had sore breasts, my stomach felt bloated. I took a test and was negative. So about a month and a half ago i decided to come off it, and i havent had any light bleeds or periods which was what i was suspecting. So now im quite worried

I've been on Cerazette for one and a quarter months. (I only did one strip and a weeks full of the next strip I came off the pill because I was sick of missing them or taking them late. I thought I'd end up getting pregnant, as I'd taken 4 pills late. Anyway, I felt pregnant, I don't know how to explain it, I just felt pregant. So I took a test a few days after stopping my pills, it came out negative. But now I'm wondering, when will I next bleed? I havnt bled since I started the pills... It been 12 days since I stopped and Still no bleeding... When will it come? My mum is worried about it and is having a go at me because she thinks I'm pregnant, even though the test said negative. She's practically waiting for my next bleed, And so am I... Please help?

Hi,
I found this post so thought I'd throw my 2 pence in about my experience on what for me was "the pill from hell" while I was on it, although I guess everyone's different..
I was put on Cerazette after having to come off the combined pill due to migraines with aura and having tried almost every other mini pill out there, While on this pill my mood swings were indescribable!! It was like I had lost the ability to think clearly, there were tears, long emotional drawn out talks with my boyfriend over nothing (poor him) anger, you name it! a witch had taken over my mind and was doing her best to mess me up!
I came off Cerazette (hurrah!!) in favor of the copper coil and it's the best decision I ever made, I'm me again..and HELLO SEX DRIVE!! :-)
I guess the period thing is a little different because of the coil situation but I came off Cerrazette and to be honest my period had never really stopped for the 3 months I was on it so continued lightly after, it then stopped and I had my coil fitted which brought me on a period the same week (although I was told that was more than likely just a bleed due to the coil, about 2 weeks after that (about a month off Cerazette) I had a 9 day period, heaviest of my life, that ended 3 weeks ago, right now all the signs of pmt are there, emotional, bloating etc, we'll see when af turns up!! ;-)

Hi, I came off cerezette after only a few weeks due to crippling headaches. It was the last in a long line of hormoanl treatments for a medical condition. I found that a lot of them really badly affected my libido too, which as you say is hard on you and your aprtner. I found that withing about 2 weeks I felt back to my normal self in this respect, helped along by the fact that I no longer felt flat and generally bleugh. Hope this helps you.

Here's my story. I have taken cerazette for 3 years after a few months I have no periods , but I have stopped twice an had a withdrawal bleed 2-3 days later however when I stopped last month it took 18 days . Although shorter than some it had never taken so long before an that was extremely worrying to me. After reading about cerazette online and others' stories an reading it could take up to a year I began to think something was wrong. Needless to say if I knew this pill was like this I never would have taken it . I will not be going back on to it!!! It is an emotionally draining pill. It is a waiting game some longer than others. Good luck to you all and hopefully not too long before we all get a bfp !!!

I used to be on the contraceptive pill femodene but due to my age the doctor prescribed me Cerazette. I was on it for nearly three years. Whilst taking the pill I didn't have one period, had mood swings etc! In December 2012 I decided to come off it due to marrying and wanting to try for a baby. After the first month of stopping it I started to suffer from abdominal pains, sore breasts and bloating, so I presumed my period was going to start, when it didn't I took a pregnancy test which came back negative. I then had to fly back home as I live in the U.K and hubby lives in the States. In March and April I had what I would call a 'normal' period although they were shorter in length. Were now at the end of May and I haven't had another. I am so concerned!!! Is it normal to have a few light periods and then nothing when stopping this pill?

I just want to feel normal. I hate this waiting, not knowing whether it's the pill that's causing this intermittent periods or is something else going on. I'm so worried and concerned.

I wouldn't recommend this pill to anyone. It messes with your body emotionally and physically...and just worries the hell out of you when you come off it!!!!!
