These days I feel very sad. My father in law was diagnosed wit subcortical dementia. I feel very sorry for him, he always helped his son and me, whenever he could, and was very nice to his grandchildren. Is there a way to cure esubcortical dementia? I mean, will he really change in someone who does not recognize us, or his grandkids? Can we somehow help him?

Subcortical dementia emerges when there are deviant changes of upper parts of medulla oblongata (part of the brain), especially its parts - thalamus and basal ganglions. I hate to be telling you this, but you need to know-there is no cure that can definitely stop dementia progression, only medicaments to slow it down a bit. I am very sorry, believe me.
