I had diabetis related phimosis and got circumcised at age 75, ( 3 months ago ) for the first 2 weeks the pain was considerable and I kept it bandaged and applied Polisporin with pain control. after about 5 weeks I was able to get an erection again , it seamed the shaft got thicker but the gland was still very sensitive to touch , my lady friend used lubrication oil to stroke my penis but and for a long time it was to painful to climax and ejaculate, slowly the pain gets lesser , vaginal sex works but for a ha****b I still need a waterbased lubricant. I guess it will still take a few months until the pain subsides and my " litle friend " feels again like before..
SO DON'T DISPAIRE, I guess this operation as adult is kind of serious for any man.... hope you have a sex partner who lovingly understands and keeps you busy.. if you don't use it - you loose it

After about 6 months you wont even notice it rubbing on your cloths then its down hill from there and after a few years there is no sensitivity at all I know.

I have this super sensitive glans problem following my adult circumcision a week ago at age 62.
I live alone during the week so spend a lot of time letting it hang free. When i do have to wear clothing I've found the following solution which works.
I bought some of those men's light incontinence pads. One side has an adhesive strip which fastens it in place inside underwear. The side which faces my penis is smeared with petroleum jelly. This gives a soft interface which really works

You are not the only one your age I see writing about this problem and sound like they are surprised by it which makes me wonder if you have lived in the same body for the whole 62 years. I knew about that sensitivity problem when I was about 10 or younger and never wanted to expose it where it would be forced to rub against stuff. I guess somewhere there are boys who never exposed their glans or touched it to see what that felt like but I didn't know any. Why does this seem to come as a surprise to so many grown men after having the cover removed?

Hi all, I'm on day 3 after circumcision and I can't walk, wear underwear or trousers. I have a constant ringing in my glans, it's so sensitive, looks like my frenulum has gone. I've got no release from it, it's constant.

For the love of god help me, has anybody done anything to reduce this sensation quickly. I was ok until the the local anaesthetic wore off, I'm taking painkillers to decrease the feeling. I've read that I should get some really tight underwear.

Any advice please, (adult circ at 40)

Thanks Adam

Hey Adam, It's a tough recovery but you'll be sweet in a couple of weeks. Once it starts healing it does rapidly get better. Definitely wear tight underwear. Get gauze bandages (nice thick ones that aren't fluffy) and vaseline. Cover the gauze in vaseline and you can fold it around your shaft. And then pull your underwear up and its very comfortable. It's painful to apply but the pain is literally 1 second and you'll get relief for hours until you need to go to the bathroom. I just kept repeating that for about 2 weeks, and eventually I could take it off and just wear tight underwear. Once the bandages are gone, and the cut is all healed, thats when the sensitivity will fade from regular underwear use. Also do take epsom salt baths after 5 days and continued to do so for 2 weeks. Max 2 per day but I usually only had one. If it means anything, I was able to masturbate on day 9 by just using the lower part of my shaft. That actually really helped reduce the pain and sensitivity because the blood inflation of the penis just seemed to calm it down. I also stopped feeling so crazy not being able to release. Do be careful because the second time I did this it did bleed a little, so take it easy. Do so according to how your own healing looks and how it feels when you get erect.

There is something they rub on babies gums to relieve the pain of teething. I have heard that works.

First of im glad to hear that some people who suffered the same thing I am dealing with were able to go through it.. but Please! tell me I´m right in the point that you described, scince my op I´ve been living in a constant state of worry, It´s been 5 days scince I had my surgery to remove my foreskin because of phimosis and till this day I cannot touch it with anything or the feeling of needles rushes trough my body.. Im depressed of being all day in my room locked and naked. please would you kindly share what you did to treat the hyper sensitivity.

So far I´ve only tried to put on some loose boxers( could not walk more than 4 steps) and rinse my wound and gland with warm and cold water to expose the nerves and I dunno.. try to wear them out..

I just found a great way to begin solving my problem of not being able to wear underwear and I can asure it´s tolerable... I was tired of reading try touching it gently because I just couldn´t do it.. so I decided to mix the ones I was willing to do.. first I applied to my glans a pharmaceutical cream.. (not a gel) so I can gently distribute it all around my penis.. and then I poured from a small distance a bottle of warm/hot water, and I repeated this step until I almost removed most of the cream. afterwards I did the same thing but with cold water to try to numb the area. I let it dry and put on some loose boxers and For the first Time in 5 days I was able to "walk" small steps with boxers.. I did feel the sting but It was only on the tip of my penis and a little more on one of the stitches.. however it´s a huge step from me... Im the guy from above.. the one who is asking for constant help... oh and I almost forgot, at the end of each stroll arround my house.. I begin to delimitate my penis inside the boxers with my hands, after the walk the sting is way less painful. I know Im not cured, but I was dead afraid of touching my penis after my op.. if I did it so can all of you gents!! I wish you the best of luck.

I'm 77 had phimosis getting worse last 6 months. Had the local procedure and i too feel raw and sore.i found putting the penis up flat against the stomach along with gauze and vaseline at the tip helps but helps more is putting bubble wrap btween the penis and underwear. At least the bubble wrap has some air pockets so it doesn't press so much. However sitting down is another story.

Hi,
I'm 13 and I just had a circumcision 3 weeks ago. There's no more pain, but there is still a little bit of swelling. Some stitches has fallen out, but some of them are still in there. Whenever I get an erection I feel no pain. I can walk properly and I am already using undergarments. I have two questions, though; When will the swelling go down? I read somewhere that it should be gone in 2 weeks but it's already week 3 and there is still some inflammation. I also read somewhere that the stitches should be gone by 2-3 weeks, but I'm already on week 3 and there are still some stitches that hasn't fallen out.
