You see, a few years back, I used to show Saving Private Ryan in History to talk about WWII and I showed Schindlers List in Geography to talk about cultures and genocide and also Europe in general. (I've discussed this subject before, and yes it's still a sore spot.) Since the movies are rated "R" I always sent a parental permission slip home allowing the students to do an alternate research assignment instead of watching the movie. No problems. Until 1 parent who felt so strongly that her boy shouldn't watch, that she went to the Principal, who in turn, went to our CEO (priest) and board President. And the three of them, in their wisdom, outlawed playing, showing, or anything to do with any "R" movies. "R" movies are not allowed. They don't belong in a Christian Catholic School, as I was told. So, the CCD kids...(Kids who belong to this church, but don't go to school here, get their religion on Weds nights...CCD) All the CCD kids went to "The Passion of the Christ" last night. The kids who go to public school can go as a group to see it. The kids who go to the Catholic school, can't. If they reverse themselves on this issue, I'm going to make a HUGE stink about it. I'm leaving, I don't need to kiss up to anyone anymore, and I want them to know that they were wrong. They painted themselves into a corner...and now, we'll see if they have to get themselves to get dirty..or if they are just happy being in the corner. I love how things like this come around. And the funny thing is, the only people they are hurting, are the people they are supposed to be educating.

At least you aren't bitter!

You need to line up a faculty game of dodgeball before you leave and get your aggressions out on your cow-orkers that way.

/dang I envy you.

Now Debra, don't be bitter. Surely with your collection of flesh mutilating silver appendages and your brand new neo nazi boot camp makeover, the boys'll come a runnin.

somehow, i don't think they'll be any reversin'....

i get the feeling the higherups in the Catholic Church really don't care for this movie... :umno:

they better stand true...or else they will be in for the dodgeball game of their life.

just wondering how old were the CCD kids that went to the movie as a group?
