I have a dr. apt. on Wed. just wanted to see if anyone knew what was going on with me. Three days ago a section of my lower lip got very warm and started to go numb (not tingly loss of sensation) it then got hard and swelled (2-3X normal size). It went away within a few hours.

Today the opposite side of my lip got very warm and swelled. Whats going on?

Additional information:

I have no know allergies, the first time it happened I had just gotten up and had not eaten or even showered yet.
I originally made the dr apt. because I fear I my have type 2 diabetes (caused by being overweight), is this a symptom?
I do have a habit of resting my hand on my chin/lip area did I cause a bruise or something? And the habit is not new but symptoms are.
