Well according to me Swimming is the best for you. It is a healthy activity. You can keep it as a lifetime. But as I heared that swimming can burn calories at a rate of about 3 calories a mile per pound of bodyweight. I don't know it is right or wrong but I heared so.

I would say swimming, just my opinion, as you can vary your stroke, use different muscle groups etc and do intensity training to. I think running every day to maintain cardio is unnecessary. You wont lose form overnight.

For me, although both running and swimming are great sports in its own respective fields, both sports can be done alternately. Both sports are good for muscle strengthening. So if you feel bored already with running, you can switch to swimming, and vice versa.

I do both running and swimming. I would have to say that I enjoy running much more because of the adrenaline rush and the scenery, however, I also really enjoy swimming after working out in the gym to help stretch everything out. Swimming consistently can have a great affect on the body and works many muscles and is less dangerous than running.
