For the second time in about a year, my 14 (B-day tomorrow) year old daughter has had a swollen painful lymph node on the right side of her groin. The PA she saw put her on an antibioitc but that night I read that Cat Scratch Fever can cause this and my daughter had a big scratch across her tummy from her cat. The PA did not test her for CSF but did change her antibiotic and within a few days she was fine. She now has the same node swollen again, about the size of an almond and quite painful. She is not aware of any scratches from her cat. Is it possible to get cat scratch fever twice in less than a year. It is Saturday so I can't call the doctor's office.
