I'm 22 and over the past few weeks two of my knuckles have started swelling on my right hand. There very painfull and itchy especially in the mornings I find it hard to even eash my hair! Was going to the doctors tomorrow but now reading this I don't see the point

Swollen and itchy often means inflammation. Soak in cold ice water and Aleve is an inflammation medication doctors often perscribe the same ingredient in 500 milgr. Aleve is 240 milgr. Try not to use your hand as this just irrtates it more. It should subside in a few days

I have had the same problem, off and on for 3+ years. I have had chronic Lyme (and other tickborn infections) for 6+ years ... treated with abx (IV and oral) and herbal approaches. I have no idea after my last many rounds of abx if I am still infected or if I just have ongoing autoimmune problems. For me the swelling is mostly in my middle finger (3rd DIP Joint). The fingers on either side are slightly effected, sometimes more as time goes on. I has taken 6 plus weeks for the swelling to resolve and the finger/s get welts on them as the swelling persists. Has anyone tried antivirals? I did, upon a Drs rec. The swelling did resolve a couple weeks later. But it was at the end of said 6 week period. Could have resolved on its own. Do ABX help anybody to get the swelling down? Does ANYTHING work???? This is painful and frustrating.

You probably have what they call "trigger finger". I have had it on my right hand and had surgery to correct it. It is a problem much like carpal tunnel only on a smaller basis. You need to see an orhtopaedic hand specialist.

exactly the same as mine last year i could not even grab a carrier bag i used to soak them in hot water and clench and unclench my fists the swelling has now gone and the pain has virtually gone with just slight pain on middle finger only when making a fist

I had/have the same problem. Thought it was Gout for years, turned out it was Lyme. Three years of ABX cured the problems in most of my joints, but the knuckle (and eye' floaters) remain a issue. I've had better luck of late using alternative Lyme approach like Rife/coil, Salt/Vit C and now MMS (Chlorine dioxide). There are Yahoo Groups on all of these - Lyme Strategies, Lyme and Rife. Anyone consider their beds? Im29 and starte swelling from bilateral knees, then it went up to elbows, then now lingering in y fingers. It started back in November 2013. Everytime I sleep on my gf's bed I feel slightly better, but as soon as I take even a lil nap on my bed my hands start to swell up. I have two herniated disk to my lower back and neck stiffness also happens in the morning ... Just hoping it's not arthritis . I'm too active for that life style.

Hello i am 54 year old and i have same symptoms ,i install wood floors for leaving and i thought it was my work that caused this but reading your note i think its not related to my work at all even if my body works hard physically .
It started couple years ago just with my little finger at right hand ,than a year later my middle and fourth finger ;in the morning its a worst but now the stiffness comes with pain too,and feels like its starting at the other hand too.
I am very scared to become crippled.

Has anyone noticed that this happens after being vaccinated? Right after the flu vaccine in October 2017 my sisters knuckles on one hand started to swell and it's starting to disfigure her fingers. Hers also itch sometimes but don't hurt.

My sink water got extremely hot. I held my fingers for a quick second which felt almost burnt. A few days later my knuckles are huge swollen, and very hard, with no tension when pressing the skin. Help! What to do?
