Did you ever find out what was wrong? I have the exact same symptoms as you, and the docs don't seem to know. Very painful lymph node under jaw and creates a cold sensation when touched. Very painful. I would be really grateful if you would please reply. Many thanks.

I was at the Dr today and thought the lump under my jawline on the right side was maybe caused by thyroid because I am also a T1 diabetic. Well, it isn't. They are concerned so have ordered a CT Scan. They say a biopsy will probably follow. I also have a lump in my right armpit. You should ask them about a CT Scan and biopsy maybe.

Have your teeth checked in your right jaw. It could be an infected tooth. Sometimes tooth pain from that area Is felt, instead,in the ear!
Antibiotics may treat infection In your body but they do not have any effect on teeth.

To the other people worried/in the dark after reading this forum...
Tldr: Similar symptoms to OP (described in paragraph directly below) turned out to be QUINCY apparently caused by a streptococcus infection following tonsilitis. If you suspect you have something similar, please go to your GP now, pain is subsiding very quickly.
I (a 22yo male, otherwise healthy and athletic) developed similar symptoms to those described by the OP: large swollen tonsil on one side, constant painful tonsil/behind ear/jaw getting gradually worse over time, even more painful when swallowing, restricted jaw, swelling of neck (lymph node) on problematic side, fatigue, fever etc.
Timeline:
I contracted Tonsilitis on Christmas Day, which ran its course and was almost 100% recovered by New Year's Eve, then woke up on New Years Day with a mild version of the symptoms I mentioned above. This progressively got worse until today (6th Jan) I saw my GP who suspected it was QUINSY. Referred to ENT doctor in A&E who arrived at the same diagnosis then drained the giant puss ball in my tonsil and gave me 10 days of Penicillin and a few days worth of Codeine. Now making recovery progress.
To all with similar symptoms, go to GP and suggest Quincy if their treatment results in no recovery. Hope this helps a few people.
Best wishes to all. Have a great 2017.

My son had this and it was a swollen salvitory gland. The salvitory tube travels from your lower neck to your tongue. H e had a calcium build up; like a stone, very painful and no appetite cause it hurts. We are having it surgically removed, right now its under his tongue.

Thanks for posting this, I have the same issue and I'm scheduled to go to the ENT this week. Mine has not gotten bigger but it did disappear after antibiotics and steroids. But it recently popped back up. It's not very big but I thought I should get it checked out.

Them something unexpected my left arm felt weird called my bf who took me to urgent care; where I expireinced my 1st ever Pa nick attach which led to hyperventilation. I had a seisor. CT scan came back normal, but I have a swollen lymh node rt side cephlexin didnt get rid of it. Ever since been experiencing Pa nick attacks/anxiety lorazapm only work for 2-4hrs max and Dr won't perscribe anything to help just said find a physciotrist. What should I do I'm 33 and have 4 kids and I dread another seisor. Feeling helpless.

I have pretty much all the same symptoms you do and can't get to the bottom of it. The doctors treat me like I'm a hypochondriac. Whatever it is, it has gotten worse over time.
