:-( I have been experiencing specific pain located in my throat/mouth region in the past two days. One day ago, I had a very sore throat and I noticed that the right side of my face, (Im guessing the glands under my jawbone), was very sore and stiff. I was in school today, the pain still very much noticible, and I felt a lump that was hard to find, but very apparent when you could find it. I am not able to touch my face to my shoulder (when i let my head fall to the side), which i can usually do. I can still do it with the other side which is not swollen or painful in any way. Today, just a few hours ago, i noticed that my toungue became very sore and somewhat swollen, but you can tell it is larger than normal. Can anyone give me any ideas about what may be going on? I have never experienced anything like this before. Should I be worried or wait to see if the inflammation goes away?

It could be some sort of infection. If the symptoms continue to worsen or even stay the same, I would advise you to contact your physician. What you could do is possibly go to your local pharmacy (independent pharmacies are better with individual care and counseling), and ask the pharmacist what he/she may recommend you doing. I hope I've helped in some way. I work for an independent pharmacist, and he's really good about giving advice on what to do in certain situations such as yours, so I hope you can find a good one in your hometown. Good luck sweetie!
