is it plausible that all those cyst problems exist because of frequent or rough sex? i have 7 girlfriends  and 3 of them have same problems the coincidence (or not) is that these 3 girls had by far more sexpartners than the rest of the group.. and most of them were the macho kind of guy.. and som blacks too (if you catch my drift)

the rest of the girls who dont have those problems have just a few -1 to 3-  relatioships in their life this far mostly with average student/office guys...

that makes me thing that intense and frequent sexlife endorses some way those problems..

what do you think? any doctors opinnion?

you sound like you have endometrosis, an intense form of ovarian cysts where mutiple cysts are created and uterus tissue and glands grow outside your uterus, causing pain and any other symptoms you mentioned. Not saying for sure, but I would definitely read about it and ask your doctor if it is a possibility.

I have had this! I thought I had the flu or bad stomach bug, but then it would go away in a day. I had cysts at the time but just thought my immune system was down as I was teaching kids and getting a bit stressed. So - yes, now I think it must have been related. I had this several times.

Hi, I'm 17 and I've been having these symptoms, I was taken of birth control nearly 2 months ago and this has started. How can I prompt my doctor about checking for them? I'm terrified of something happening to my overies. I was given birth control yesterday by my doctor to see if the pain goes away while I'm on it, I don't want to rely and the pill to get rid of the symptoms its frightning.

I have been having constant pain on both sides of groin and ovary areas. Also low back and front thigh pain as well as constant feeling of bloating in my abdomen. I have had MRI's, ultrasounds, xrays and a very painful test at my GYN. Also had an endoscope and colonoscopy all within the last two years. I know I have some small kidney stones, a herniated disc in my lower spine and IBS but things are so much worse now. I understand your frustration and I don't understand why no one can help.I wish someone could help all of us.

I know this post is old... but yes to your question that ovarian cysts can cause flu like symptoms. I call these my "nights of hell". It took me years to figure out that it was the rupture of an ovarian cyst when my brother, who has polycystic kidney disease, mentioned to me that what Im experiencing sounds exactly like what happens to his body when one of his kidney cysts burst. Ive had this about eight times in the past 15 years. Very sudden onset of burning pain all over body like acid has been poured into your muscles, fast heartrate, nausea, you almost feel like you are dying. Every time I have gone to the ER, nothing shows up in bloodwork except for a slightly elevated WBC. Fluids and rest are all that can be done and the worst is over in about 16-24 hours. Its just awful. I asked my doctor about it and he said he had never heard of a cyst causing that type of issue, and to just take some Tylenol and rest. I have already had a partial hysterectomy, but Im considering having the ovaries removed at this point as well, Im just wary of the hormonal imbalances at that point.
