I have a prescription to Adderall BRR 5mg that I take twice daily. It's not the Extended Release Capsules so is there any way AT ALL that my doctor can do ANY tests on me to see if I've been taking them the way they are prescribed, taking too many of them or do not have enough of them in my system?
I know it may sound funny but I'm really not sure if there's any way that anyone can tell exactly how many I've taken a day and if I've taken too many, which I VERY often do.
My appointment with him is on the 9th, which is tomorrow.
Is there ANY kind of testing he can do for Adderall BRR, because I know there are tests that can be done sometimes for the Extended Release Capsules. I'd MUCH rather be safe than sorry.
Everything I've looked up on the internet to try and find my answer hasn't been very informative and really doesn't even apply to the type of Adderall I'm prescribed to. It ALL has to do with the ER Capsules which, as I stated above, I do not have.
I hope you take the time to help me because I've looked everywhere!
Thanks for ANY answers you can give me. If you'd like to email me the answers,

PS. As you can tell I'm new on this site so please have patience with me.

Hmm I'm sorry to say that I really don't know the way that doctor could test you if you had taken too much. But I have found that you are highly advised not to take too much of Adderall.
I found that if there is chronic abuse of adderall it can result in the amphetamine psychosis. So if you are going tomorrow to check yourself be ready to ask doctor a few questions about your dosage.
Keep us posted what did doctor told you.

Hi seasiren88, theoretically, there is a test for any drug that the doctor prescribes you to see how much you are taking, but I don't think that the doctor would test you. However, to properly treat you, the doctor DOES need to know about any and all medications and drugs you are taking so that you can get proper treatment. I honestly suggest that you be honest with your doctor about taking too many of them, because it could turn into an addiction and then you would need help. DOes that make sense?

Well I'm glad that I was able to help you in any way. And I really agree on what bluedog said. It is in your best interest to tell the doctor on how many pills you have taken. If you don't tell the truth there is a chance that he can misdiagnose you.

Bluedog,
Could you possibly tell me what type of testing the doctor would or even might use since my addy's aren't ER Capsules they are actually "ADDERALL BRR"? Another question that I haven't been able to find... What does the "BRR" stand for?

Or, you could give me a site or something if that would be better for you. I've spent the last few months searching off and on all over the internet and in medical books trying to find any information that would be helpful for someone who is taking Adderall BRR specifically, instead of the Extended Release Capsules. But, I've only been able to find information for the latter, there hasn't been any information that I've found that even gives me any ideas about the differences between the two types. It almost seems as if the kind I'm taking, (BRR) doesn't even exist or just isn't prescribed at all anymore since the popular choice seems to be the ER Capsules. If anyone knows of a website that would give me information specifically about Adderall BRR instead of the ER Capsules that would help SOOO much just so I would know a little more about them.

I was told by someone that the only thing they can really do is a Spinal Tap type of test due to the kind of Adderall I have but it would be so dangerous and expensive that most doctors won't even bother with it.

Thanks Once Again For Your Time!

You really got me interested with Adderall BRR. And I really give my best to try to find something on internet. But I was out of luck, just like you. I couldn't find anything that would give me explanation about BRR. I found out that Adderal (mixture of amphetamine salts) is produced by two other companies. But couldn't find nothing there also. I really am interested if anyone can give explanation to this.

I'm sorry but I don't entirely know what the specific abbreviation of BRR is. I know however that if your doctor was testing for them that you would probably take a urine test so that's what I think that you could expect. Is there any reason why you're not telling your doctor? Your doctor needs to know so that you can get proper treatment. They can't force you to do anything, so bear that in mind. What do you think?

I appreciate the help on what to expect because I really didn't know. Thank you for taking the time.
Thanks also to everyone else that responded.
Now, I'm only left with one question: What does 'BRR' stand for/mean?
I'll be looking this up once again to try and figure it out. Wish me luck you guys!

Well I have been searching for this several days now. :-)
And I think I found something, not sure can this be related to the meaning of Adderall BRR.
Well I have found that BRR stands for baroreceptor reflex. It is one of the body's homeostatic mechanisms for maintaining blood pressure. The system relies on specialized neurons, known as baroreceptors, in the aortic arch, carotid sinuses, and elsewhere to monitor changes in blood pressure and relay them to the brainstem. Subsequent changes in blood pressure are mediated by the autonomic nervous system.
I hope that this is something that can help you figure out what BRR stands for.
