I was reading the LA times and there was an interview with this guy, a doctor, who carries out diabetic amputations. It was newsworthy because this clinic had the very highest rate of diabetes related amputations. Can you tell me more about these? Why do they happen? What is it about diabetes that causes the need for amputations?
