Did anyone get a good diagnose on this? I have been having the same issue for a few weeks. I had a sinus infection, but now it's over and I have a lot of inflammation at the bridge of my nose, which is swollen and painful to the touch. I also have other inflammatory issues (colitis and a little bit of early arthritis), but this is a new one. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey everyone, i read all your posts, and said the same thing you all did. Wow! I'm not the only one! So, i've been doing research and have decided that it's just a sinus infection. There are 4 sinuses, Frontal, Ethmoid, sphenoid, and maxillary. I'm going to say that my current infection is in the Ethmoid, usually it's in the maxillary. You can search the web for Sinusitis. There is Chronic and Acute. Bacterial and Viral. There doesn't seem to be much for help, at least for me anyway, you can take OTC drugs for some relief, but what seems to work for me is acetaminophen, for pain. I recently had one of my front teeth pulled, #10 and havn't had an infection for like 6 months, but I just had a dental implant put in last Monday, and on Friday, I felt my first signs of the dreaded sinus infection. I hope this helps!!

I too, suffer from colitis and other related -itis things as well as the painful bridge of the nose. The symptoms are unlike anything else I've experienced, swollen nose and sometimes eyelid, and intense pain. Are you feeling any better HJK? Did you finally receive a proper diagnosis? My doctor seems to think it's viral, but I'm with you on the possible inflammation track. Any further information would be appreciated!

I had this problem a year ago, and now it's back. I've tried a vaporizer, but it's not working. I live in Florida, so if it's a mold issue, I won't have relief from "the first frost" because we may not have one. My sinuses and skin love the Florida humidity, and as it's been less humid lately, my assumption was that it was the dry air that caused my nose pain. Sometimes I can press on either side of the bridge of my nose and it relieves the pressure for a minute. I tried flushing out whatever is in there with saline (a la neti pot), but it didn't help as one nostril is stuffy. Besides the annoyance of this pain, I'm more concerned that this will develop into sinusitis. Good luck to all of us.

Hi, I have had the same problem as you all. After stepping foot in The Philippines I experienced this dull constant pain in my tempels, around/down the bridge of my nose, behind/round my eyes and later on my cheeks (facial tenderness). It didn't go away, so I started taking nuerophin and panadol whilst overseas. On coming home to NZ, I saw my GP who decribed it as a vacuum headache. Soon after, I had a MRI scan an saw a neurologist, eye speacilist, dentist, and ENT speacilist. Alas, they couldn't find anything wrong with me. Then I saw a natureopath who discovered I had a sinus infection, I had been taking antibiotics a lot prior for numerous frequent eye and skin infections, nose congestion and mucus discharge. Following the orders of the naturopath I started eliminating dairy products and found my mucus discharge cleared up. Another two months had past and I still had no relief from headaches and feelings of being fatigued, so I was told to see a kinesiologist/GP, and he said I had TMJ problems. He also put me on a detoxification programme which included taking alternative medicines, and making dietary changes, (6 months now) for the purpose of relieving CFS, and iratable bowel syndrome caused by Candida and begun correcting my thyroide, adrenal hormone imbalances. I had a leaky gut syndrome too, (big culpret toxins!!!), sensitivity to pestisides and environmental chemicals were the cause for the fatigue and tiredness.
Now, Im getting my gut sorted and energy back, but I still get the chronic facial pain, and it is a sinus and tension headache. My hope is that through massage (for back/neck) and diet I can be back to normal as I'm only 24 and have a lot I would like to accomplish. This has been a very expensive exercise, but has allowed me also, time to find out so much more about myself as a person. I thank God for his mercy, grace and love, and for carrying me through these resent storms in my life.

I have the same symptoms - which started 3 days ago. Did anyone ever find a cause? My doctor gave me anti-biotics and is treating it as a soft tissue infection.

My husband has RA and I now too show signs of RA or lupus. We both have all the same issue. Headache, back of neck hurts and nose hurts. His hurts so much he can't eat. It feels like a tooth ache as well as pain and swelling in his checks. We are both NOT stuffy so not sure what that means. Allergy medication helps. I think its an inflammation issue myself.

It happens when I am having a Crohn's disease flare-up. It is DEFINITELY NOT a sinus issue... this is the cartelage on the bridge of the nose which gets inflamed, even the sinuses run clear.

Cellulitis
I woke up three days ago with an extremely sore nose and thought my spouse had whacked me in the night. But , alas that was not to be the case. I now have a slight fever of 100 and headache along with sore lymph glands running down the side of my neck.
So, today i went to the doc and Cellulitis is the culprit. If this is what you have, go to the doctor now!!!! You need antibiotics and heavy doses of it. If that does not work you will either get injectable anti's or you will be admitted to the hospital.
My nose is red and swollen and hurts to touch or blow my nose. I have a headache and of course the swollen glands.
It says one of the culprits could be from bug bites. In my case i would say it was Mosquitos. Thats the only thing that was different for me. Good luck to all who read this. And I hope this info helps someone else out there who was just as clueless as myself! Shelly

I had the same symptom as every one else listed. From reading the posts, I felt relieved that this was some what common. I do suffer from seasonal allergies, but not too badly. I didn't know there were sinuses in the bridge of the nose. I took the advise of taking Aleve (i don't like taking med's), it helped within an hour, I also used a netti pot with salt water a couple times a day. In less about a week I was pain free. I have no medical background, I just wanted to pass on what I did, and that I feel great now. Hope this helps!

About three days ago I started having the same problems. I thought it was my glasses because they started to hurt where they rest on the nose. But later that day I realized it was the entire bridge of my nose that was sore. It's been three days and it's still sore, a bit swollen and red. It hurts when i touch it and when i scrunch my nose. I tried putting ice on it and that didn't do anything at all. I will go to the doctor to find out what it is. I'm glad I found these posts. I couldn't find anything else on the net.

I'm not sure if I had what you guys are experiencing, but I can tell you what i went through.

I was coming home from work one night and had a little headache. I touched my nose and realized it was very tender. At first it was just sore. About 2 days later I woke up with a killer sinus headache and my nose was a little swollen and red and very tender. I did some research and found there was really only 1 solution. Sinus Congestion. I know..weird right? Considering I didn't feel congested at all. Well, I went to Walgreen's and bought a Neti Pot, and some Aleve D for congestion. Today is my 5th day doing the neti pot about twice aday and the Aleve D every 12 hours and it's completely gone. Maybe its just a fluke that these things worked for me...but i'm sure glad they did! I hope this post helped! :-D

I woke up yesterday and the bridge of my nose hurt so bad. I couldn't figure out why. I kept thinking somehow I had slept through something whacking me across the bridge of my nose. It has gotten worse, feels warm to the touch, my eyes are watering, I am sneezing and my nose is draining constantly (but totally clear). I tried allergy/sinus medication even though I have never, ever suffered with allergies. The allergy medication has not helped at all. I have also tried a warm compress but that has not helped either. The pain is now even happening when I don't touch it. My husband keeps insisting "sinus" problems but it feels like it's IN THE BONE itself. Washing my face, putting on makeup or wearing my glasses is extremely uncomfortable. It's a Friday night so if it's not better by Monday morning I guess I will call the doctor. I hope I can get some answers because it's kind of freaking me out!

I too woke one morning to a slightly swollen nose and feeling as if someone broke my nose.
After a few days I even had swelling in the' eyes and bridge of my nose was painful to wear glasses.
I went to urgent care and they said "Sinusitis". I only felt slightly congested that day, 3 days after first symptom.
Hard to believe it is sinusitis but the 875mg Augmentin 2X daily and 2 sprays of Flonase in each nostril 1X daily has eliminated the problem. You all need antibiotics!!
