Same with my son. CPC and highly gifted. Starting highschool next year at age 11. My other children, one older and one younger, are good students but not nearly to the degree as my 11 year old.

My doctor told me that even if the child is born with the cyst and everything else is normal it will NOT affect any aspect of his/her life. You wont even be able to tell the cyst is still there. and many times the cyst will go away. I am 21 years old pregnant with my first child and at my 20 week u/s i was told my son had CPC. I find out at my next appointment if the cyst is going away or if i should get further tests.

Just wanted to let you know... When i was 19 weeks my OB discovered a large CPC on the ultrasound. All of my blood work was normal and it was not associated with any abnormal findings it was and "isolated" CPC. The dr told me as long as there are no other signs found during the ultrasound do not worry almost 90% resolve on their own. Had my last US yesterday at 30 weeks and it was resolved :) Perfectly healthy baby and no sign of CPC.Do not worry youself .

I'm 20 years old, pregnant with my 2nd son. I didn't get my first ultrasound until I was 17 weeks pregnant, and during the ultrasound, I noticed what seemed to be a shadow on the right side of the choroid plexus of the baby's brain. He looked so healthy and perfect that I thought nothing of it. But my doctor came in and told me the shadow I saw is what he thought is a choroid plexus cyst. He referred me to a specialist to have it looked at to confirm if that is in fact what it is or not. I have been concerned simply because my doctor doesn't KNOW if it's a choroid plexus cyst. He said it doesn't look like the ones he's seen before. I'm a little confused.

my son is 11 and has adhd and has an incredible immune system when it comes to bacterial infections. meaning he doesnt get colds but will get stomach bugs. but is rarely sick. he had a cpc on his brain on one side but it went away. he was incredibly intelligent when he was younger and still is but is a bit lazy. his coordination and gait is a tiny bit off but only can be seen by the mother cheering him on in the stands at basketball. unfortunately in our case our son has behavior issues, we think due to the adhd that makes him annoy all around him. but other than that he is very healthy. i think in the future they may find a link between cpcs and some type of issues perhaps adhd or aspergers? be glad your son is good at sports and keep him in it to burn off that energy :)

How is she now? My son also had the choroid plexus cysts diagnosed by ultrasound. He is almost 6 now and has a sensory processing disorder and is currently going through testing for dyslexia. He didn't speak until he was 3 and he struggles with school. It would be nice to hear your story. I am having so many issues with the school and their lax attitude towards intervention. I had to go to an outside intervention therapy.

Having the same dilemma here with my youngest and when I think about it, my older kids had them, too, all resolved... Sensory processing is the suspected issue... My son is 5.5 now and I am finally at the point I am ready to get answers instead of listening to everyone who tells me my 5 year old is running my life...

I couldn't agree more..... During my second pregnancy, with my son, a CPC was found. By my next ultrasound it had resolved itself and everything was fine.
My son is now 3.5 years old and is completely healthy and mentally intact. No development issues and is doing well in 3 y/o pre-school.... Just a normal kid!

You were very lucky.....in 99% cases. This cysts resolve automatically. But if women of age after 35 years. Chances are became not to resolve. Same thing happened with my wife. When she borned baby she was 37. And our baby found Choroid plexus cyst in left ventricle of brain. When baby was 4 months, she got first time sezuires and then we went for MRI there we found Choroid plexus cyst. Then we had to go for brain surgery. Now after five months of Surgery. She have sezuires. Which has made her mind not in normal condition. We are praying God that one day she be ok.......if somebody have any informations can please write. if somebody can really have anything which can cure my baby, please write us.

My daughter is 3 next month. The hospital found that she had a CPC during her one and only ultrasound when I was about 19 weeks pregnant (insurance wouldn't cover another ultrasound to see if it cleared up because she was otherwise healthy), she may still have it, but I have no idea. She came out perfect, and so beautiful, but as she gets older, I have been noticing some behaviors that I wonder if it's linked to the CPC. Talking with my sister in law about her son who had the same thing, we noticed similar behaviors in our children, and I guess his CPC never cleared up when he had additional ultrasounds. They are both extremely hyper active (her son recently diagnosed with ADD, but I haven't seen a doctor for my daughter yet), both are very sensitive to noise and busy surroundings, and both having trouble with focusing. My sister who is an occupational therapist mentioned that she may have a sensory processing disorder, my husband is in denial that there is anything wrong with her, and I'm hoping it's just because she's 3 and still developing. She has severe anxiety whenever she is in a situation where she remembers an unpleasant moment, like going to the doctors, and singing happy birthday at parties, to the point where she'll have panic attacks, but her dad has panic attacks too, so that may or may not be related. I'm afraid to go certain places with her, especially when she hasn't napped, like a party, carnival, or a parade, because I know she will get overwhelmed, and will not listen, focus or stay with me without a fight, and it often times leads to a meltdown, her cousin who is 2 months younger than her never has a problem. She is super smart and has an incredible memory, always has hit her milestones when expected, and super happy, otherwise. I just wonder if there's a link to the hyper activity and sensitivity to sound and the CPC.

i know you posted this some time back so I hope you see it, but we are currently testing my 6 year old son for dyslexia. I’ve found a few small mentions of connections between CPC and dyslexia. I just wanted to see how your testing went - and if there’s anyone else out there!!

My son who is now 5 (almost 6) was recently diagnosed with Developmental Coordination Disorder (dyspraxia). He is having trouble in school with writing, and speech and language issues. He is a bit awkward with his movements at times. He had a Choroid Plexus Cyst discovered at his anatomy ultrasound which ended up dissolving on its own over time before birth. I'm not a DR but my (mom) gut tells me that there is a correlation between the two. Does anyone have a similar story?
