Hi, same thing here. From all I can tell it is yeast related. I have a systemic yeast infection and when it flares or is being killed it turns white. Some will wipe off but most will not. Its also cyclical. Around ovulation the increase in hormones and such changes consistency and color in both tissue and discharge. I am going in a few days for a tissue sample as my gyno has no idea why its white if she can see no yeast under the microscope. Sometimes it burns and itches and sometimes not. I will try to remember to post my results here for other women with the same questions :)

I too just discovered the same thing...I said it almost looks like freezer burn...I'm seeking answers too...it doesn't seem to itch but I do have a discharge that has some color to it but it doesn't smell at this point...anyone have a thought?

Mine is a very pale pink. As we age our estrogen level drops which cause the vagina lining to get thinner. As it does let blood supply to the area. Nothing is wrong, it Judy is what it is.

Should say, it is what it is. This usually begins in our 40s. The skin becomes thinner which can lead to tearing. Its good to have a healthy sex life to help by massaging the vagina walls. If that's not an options you may need to purchase an adult toy to do the job. Keep in mind that as it thins it produces less lubrication so you will need to keep some on hand. There are several out there, you can also use coconut oil. However, never never use Vaseline.

I hope this answer helps someone else. When I was 55 I was diagnosed with vaginal atrophy. That means the tissue in the vaginal area is drying up and shriveling away...basically dying. The area turned white and some of the skin folds because crusty hard and painful. This is not something that was ever taught in sex ed so was a total surprise and shock to me. The doctor explained that is is due to lack of estrogen as you age so prescribed estrogen suppositories which seem to help. However, I still have bouts of itching and burning now and then as well as whitening of the tissue all around the area. I am not sexually active and the doctor recommended masturbating or finding a partner to stimulate the area and get the blood flowing into the tissue because the lack of estrogen and blood flow will increase the problem. The estrogen certainly helped a lot because I started to feel relief just one week into using it and the hard tissue softened up again after a couple of weeks on it. There are also still some white areas so I don't know if that will ever change but at least it is no longer painful.
