I noticed mine after a bout with my sciatic Nerve causing pain down my left butt and leg. Coincidental? Maybe, but, I'm thinking it is related. It's more on the surface, feels like a burn, but there's nothing on the skin.

I’ve been having the same symptoms for almost two months. It started out with vomiting for 3 days, then it went to a severe pain on my left side, and now its numbness and tingling on the left abdomen that travels to my spine, sometimes to the back of my head, and sometimes to my lower side, but always just on the left side of my body. I did have lobster the day before i got sick, so i am wondering if the seafood had any effect. The doctor does not know what it is, and our wonderful health care system will not allow any more test unless there are life threatening symptoms. I am at a loss on what to do.

It's most likely caused by muscles, and or nerves in that area not getting a good enough blood supply. It's associated with neuropathy. If you have diabetes, it could be the root of the problem. If you do not have diabetes, it could be idiopathic neuropathy. Maybe best to see a Neurologist. Have he or she run some nerve tests in that area. There are some meds for it, that could possibly help you.

I know this post is rather old, but I thought I’d share my story. The short story is I had numbness on my right side just under my ribs. I went to a doc that sent me to a neurologist. The neurologist ordered a MRI of my brain and spinal cord. Turns out I had a couple tumors on my spinal cord in my neck. I had surgery on it and am a lot worse off than just the initial numbness. However had I not had the surgery, I would have eventually become a quadriplegic. I am so thankful I had the surgeon I did bc it could have been a lot worse.
