one day,sunday to be exact it hurt to sit down,i thought there was a pimple on my butt cheek so i thought nothing of it.then a couple days ago it hurt while i was walking and i thought to myself the pimple shouldnt be hurting this long.so i went in the bathroom and felt where the pain was coming from and there was a lump a size of a quarter on my butt cheek right next to the crack.so sence i dont have a dr. at the moment im gonna have to go to the hospitle so they can check it out.im assuming its a cyst or a abcess 2 or 3 yrs ago i had a one on my arm i went to the hospital and they numbed it sliced it and but gaz in it told me whenever i take a shower to pull a little out at a time i did and it heal up pretty good.i just dont remember it hurting as bad as the one on my butt lol

About 3 days ago, I noticed and felt the pain of a huge, swollen bump in the upper part of my butt-crack. It got so big and swollen I could barely sit down. I went to the doctor yesterday and he tried to tell me it was just an infected hair folicle. I find this hard to believe. I have done alot of research over the past few days and ive seen infected hair folicle pics and I havent seen any that look like mine. Im suppose to go back to the doctor in 2 days so he can slice it open and pull the stuff out. He put me on 3 antibiotics too. Ive never had anything like this before and I was hoping maybe someone could tell me if it will go away on its own so I dont have to go to the doctor and get cut on.

I also had a cyst on my butt. it was near my anus and i had mistaken it for a hemorrhoid so i used many hemorrhoid creams and ointments that helped the pain a little. Then I started epsom salt bathes thats caused the pain to subside and after three of these baths the cyst opened up and drained. The pain goes away slowly but feels alot better

I have one now at the top of my crack as well. It is soooo painful. I'm prego so i cant take certain pain relievers. It is like the size of a giant gumball, very hard and i struggle to sit and get back up. I am 30, never had this problem before. I thought it was an ingrown hair. my doc put me on antibiotics 2day. She said they wont work...she thinks its staff!...what? I take showers everyday. I have a flat but too I wonder if this is caused by siting at the comp all day. :-(

i went to doctors cause i had a lump on my rear witch was very painfull when i sat down or got up all i can do is lay down witch is least painfull doctor had look and said it was a cyst gave me antibiotics for 24 hrs if it dont work its a trip to the hospital ,it was hard painfull to touch and a fair size

I have had this issue for quite a long time. I first went to the doctor at 18 years old and he told me to use Dial soap as it was a boil. It pissed me off because I know I am a very clean person---almost OCD in my cleaning methods. Anyhow for years I dealt with the problem because it is recurring. I have searched and researched high and low and finally I found some information that seems to make some sense as far as my symptoms go. It is a disease called Hidradenitis Suppuratavia. What ever you do do not pop or pick at these lumps. In doing so you may cause another to appear. It can become a network that forms under the skin. It would seem there is truly no cure as it's a poorly studied condition that is often misdiagnosed. There is an option to have this operated on but not only is it said to be expensive, and it may not clear up the case. The third stage is said to possibly lead to cancer as well. I just found this info and plan on going to a dermatologist this time around. I thought I'd share since I came across this site looking for more information and I know how painful these lumps can be. Anyhow, wishing all who read this the best of luck in finding some help.

I just noticed mines now. Im pretty creeped out. Its not really differently colored, and its on the rim of my butt. I have no clue what it is but it hurts a little when I touch it. Its about the size of the bottom of a color pencil but instead of being circle shape, its an oval. Its not that big though, but Im really worried.
