Hi, i think what you have is a Pilondial Cyst. I have the same issue, I came across it yesterday. I have done my research, I guess you should just look it up.

carbuncle, cyst, boils/abcess, pilonidal cyst google info on this, then google HS (hidradenitis suppurativa ) . The last thing noted is a skin disorder, not sure if your situation is more minor (ie, carbuncle, cyst etc) but read up on these topics and please see a dermatologist, preferably one with experience with these conditions mention. I have HS and was miss diagnosed for 17 years, and in that time the conditon got worst. There are a lot of people who experience cyst and abcess and it is relatively minor and may never occur again, I just urge anyone who is experiencing a problem such as this seek a qualified dermatologist so you can get an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment. HTH

I have the same problem. But mine's not red. It feels like a bone. I had this probem for less than a year. I was sitting in class one day and I felt hurt in my butt. And ever since that day it been bothering me. It's hurting me right now. Sometimes the pain goes away and then after a while it comes back. I went to the doctor and had people x-ray it but they didn't do anything about it. They probably think it's unnecessary or it's not a big deal. I'm 14 and its a big deal to me. I have p.e. and I walk and sit at school everyday. It's painful everyday. Now it got worst. It hurts when I lay down, bend, jump, run, sit up, stand up...like I feel hurt!

Hi, I'm 22 and I live a pretty sedentary lifestyle (basically just scrolling through tumblr all day avoiding doing my dissertation) and my office chair is terrible so I'm blaming it instead of my laziness...  Um, to top that I'm no stranger to a bit of hair growth especially down there so instead of spending loads of money getting it all professionally waxed (I'd kill to get everything lasered off!) or waxing it myself (which is virtually impossible without doing permanent damage and/or scaring the neighbours) I use a hair removal cream.  I used to shave it off (like around my anus and maybe the top of my thighs) but it just irritated me so much when it started growing back.  So the cream works great only that I may have left it on too long last time as I got a big red mark on my ass...

SO, I have two of these lumps, one kinda at the top-back inner thighs and one on my bum cheek.  I'm pretty sure they're ingrown hairs, is there any way for ingrown hairs to just fix themselves?  But there is that possibility of it being something to do with my, erm, office chair.  ORR am I having a reaction to the hair removal cream? Or what the likelihood of ass-cancer (???) for someone my age?

SHowing my doctor my ass is not something I really want to do...

If you get these often try soaking a clean wash cloth in a bowl with 1/3 White Vinegar & 2/3 Warm Water, Lay on your stomach and lay the damp cloth over your bottom. Vinegar is a natural antiseptic and works great. Vinegar baths with sea salt and baking soda also do wonders for your skin! Good Luck! :-|P.S. Apple cider vinegar & Tea Tree oil are also wonderful remedies for bad skin!

PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO THIS id**t. #1, REMOVING IT SURGICALLY IS NOT A GUARANTEE THAT IT WON'T RETURN. #2 IT RARELY HAS TO DO WITH HYGIENE, UNLESS YOU ARE A TOTALLY DISGUSTING PERSON WHO NEVER BATHES. THERE ARE A LOT OF POSSIBLE CAUSES, BUT IT IS USUALLY BITS AND PIECES OF UNDEVELOPED PARTS OF YOU, THAT COLLECTED THERE WHILE YOU WERE FORMING WHEN YOUR MOTHER WAS PREGNANT. A LOT OF THE TIME A TRAUMA, PROLONGED SITTING OR EVEN JUST AN INGROWN HAIR CAN TRIGGER THE PROBLEM, BUT THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY POSSIBLE REASONS. ALSO, I HAVE HAD 3 OF THESE OVER THE LAST TWENTY YEARS, ONE REMOVED SURGICALLY (NOT THE LAST ONE I HAD) AND I AM A CANCER SURVIVOR, AND NOT ONCE HAS ANY DOCTOR, INCLUDING MY ONCOLOGIST EVER GIVEN ME ANY INDICATION THIS CAN BECOME CANCEROUS... AND YES, I DID ASK THAT QUESTION.
