I have not had a true normal bloody period in months. Instead, I will have this terrible DARK brown discharge, it is clumpy, thick and pasty and also "tissuey". Sometimes it is even black. It smells like blood, and I am sure it is old blood, but it will last for weeks sometimes. It is almost like a replacement period. I recently started taking 1000 Mg of Vitex to try and regulate my period (about a month ago). I am not on birth control, I am married, 19 years old, and I have been having this for months. It is not an STD, and my last annual pap smear came back normal. Sometimes it is light on certain days and then it will rush out, heavy but it is never enough to fill more than a panty liner. Sometimes it is watery brown, and oter times it is solid clumps. I cant get in to see an OB/GYN for a little while, my insurance is taking a while to go thru. I am tired of having this abnormality, and would like to know if anyone else has experienced this or can give me some info as to whats happening! could it just be my period changing, or due to stress? I moved to South Korea 2 months ago and was just reunited with my husband after a year of seperation due to the army. COuld it be stress and that making my period like this? Thanks to anyone who can help me! I will get in to see a dr as soon as possible, I just want to know if there is anything i can do in the meantime or to ask the dr?
My bet is on stress. Most girls will see abnormalities in their period because of stress. Its because your body knows periods of stress are not a good time to reproduce so everything goes haywire. Plus knowing that you have to move soon, especially to such a new place is alot to think about.

I would find something that helps you relax. Starting a good workout routine and eating a little better will help your mind and body cope with all the new changes. Meditation for 30 minutes in the morning and before bed can go along way too.

Dan
