hey i have had similar problems. Im 16 and very athletic and healthy. i play competitive tennis 5 times a week and for the past few days i have been having this tight throat sensation almost as if it is constricting. If i exercise (which i have not been lately cause of this) i get light headed and very tired pretty quickly. I havent been eating anything out of the ordinary, and i have been to a doctor. I do have some anxiety problems, but even when im very relaxed, i still sometimes feel this tight throat and a bit of trouble breathing. I really want to get back out to the courts but im afraid to. My doctor said its not asthma and i should go back to playing but i feel as if there is some problem..

hi, i'm also 15 and i can't stop concentration on my breathing ether! it got a little serious from the last few weeks (1.5weeks i guess) resulting to not able to sleep at night. i also could breath properly before it just started recently!

i went to the doctors all of them seems to say i have excess amount of acid in my stomach(which was true) but the medicins seemed to not work but i got some homeopathy which took a long time but it cured! but the problem of breathing stress didn't go! usually this breathing problem seems to come up before the exams~

and the doctors took a few test on me for allergy well today i'm going to get the result! hopefully it will solve the problem as i seem to have quite a lot of allergy!

maybe it can also be some psychological problem with the brain coz your mind and your body is 1 u don't have the control over whole of your body in fact no parts of your body. u have control over your mind but not fully... when your mind is unhappy u don't know but your body gets also unhappy causing some physical disorder well its not like u think u are sick or any thing nor are u unhappy but your mind is.. which isn't easy to realize~ https://www.steadyhealth.com/discussions/topic/reply/?t=94354

i feel better as i'm not the only one with this problem :)

well gr8 news i got in the reports!!!!!

2 x-rays= one of my scull shows that i have _____(forgot the name but its like swollen from the inside) the other one of my lungs shows that i have asthma .

> the swolen of the inside of my nose is the cause of my dizziness
> and the asthma is the cause of my tight breathing problem( for which i can't sleep at night)

i also got the reports of my allergy tests:-

> i'm banned from eating beef, hilshai Lisha fish, and crabs and sea foods 4 like 6 month when my medication will cure it
> i'm also allergic to dust more problem on my nose

but i'm still confused with one thing - why do i get tired so easily but i'm very athletic! and my neck glands swell from time to time with fever and more body weakness~

my medical background/ history:
2008: i cut of my tonsil as almost doctor pursuits to do in Bangladesh! (but that move was wrong which i found out later that tonsils are the 1st line of defense against bacteria after they enter our body:-

2009: soon after i cut of my tonsils gone i got hit my TB virus! took long to realize it and after 9months course i was cured but from half way through my course i started to feel very bad, feel like through up and can't sleep at night~

2009-2010: that bad feeling came time to time especially

I get something like this, when I go to bed rolling over or moving suddenly makes my breathing tight and when I get up it is hard to distract myself from it. The doctor said I have mild asthma and anxiety. We don't know what causes my anxiety but all I do is find something to do no matter how much it annoys me. I can't get to sleep until about 2am- thats if I get to sleep at all :( . I have found that drinking makes me feel worse, unless I take small sips.

I am glad there are other people who feel similar to me about this :)

i was 20 and found out i had a thyroid problem through a blood test. Worth  getting it checked regularly if your not sure, I went to see a specialist and they couldnt do much but keep monitoring it through blood results TSH. Its a subtle condition when it first starts, tightness in throat, feeling lathargic, moody, veyr sensitive, homones change, pimples appearing, easily agitated and annoyed. I found that over a period of time through a balanced lifestyle it got me back on to normal me.. watching my diet, restriction on certain foods, exercise, good sleep, reduce alcohol intake. All helps abit . Through my research online, there is not scientific proof of what causes this , but I think the main thing that triggered it well started it was stress. Recently found that it re-appeared again- very hard to breath, constantly taking deep breaths. Besides a balanced lifestyle, anyone else know other tips that can help reduce and make it go away quicker?

I have had asthma all my life and just started getting these symptoms, I know its not a function of asthma and highly doubt its for you. My breathing is slightly labored because my throat feels so tight but its not an asthma attack. Chest pains come and go, sometimes severe and other times mild. I spent the previous day with my head down looking at a computer screen putting pressure on my throat. No pain until waking up the next morning with tight lump in throat feeling. Burping helps for about 20 seconds until I can feel my throat gradually tightening back up and feel slightly dizzy/lightheaded. No major problems with swallowing yet but its a little more forced than usual. Takes me longer to swallow something. Going to wait it out and not get concerned about it unless symptoms get much worse, then maybe will call a doc. Hope this helps and maybe someone else has these symptoms?

could be asthma, or acid reflux or anxiety. you need to go to a dr. they will send you for proper tests to rule out everything... i myself get what you are describing and it happens because I have allergy induced asthma.

I had issues like that from mid-March 2012 till about end of May 2012.. doctors kept saying I sounded fine when they listened with stethescope, and sd probably just a sinus or throat infection but I have had those and it didn't feel like that... I insisted on going to an allergist and found out I have bad dust mite allergies and they also sent me for a breathing test, I have also developed asthma... now I have inhalers and I feel fine. but you pretty much have to demand answers!

Sounds like pneumonia. I had walking pneumonia a few years back and it's where your lungs feel heavy and it's heard to breathe. It means you have a lot of mucus in your lungs and it's turned into a bacterial infection.
