What can you tell me about Trazadone? I have heard from a friend who has been taking it that it is a good antidepressant. I have decide to start myself some therapy because I cannot cope with the depression and anxiety anymore. Sometimes, I cannot even go to work, the attacks are that severe. The situation became a lot worse in last couple of weeks, I guess this is due to unsolved obligations I have at work. Anyway, should I ask a doctor to prescribe me this Trazadone? Is it any good?
I guess that your doctor will decide if you are to use Trazodone or any other anti depressive. Tradozone acts by changing the actins and functions of some brain substances. It helps with sadness, feelings of guilt and loss of interest in a daily routine, even suicidal tendencies. It also has several side effects like allergic reactions, irregular heartbeat etc. One more thing Tradozone could cause prolonged and painful erection (4 hors, even more). But, like I said, until you are thoroughly examined by a specialist, you won t know what medication you will get, if any.

As for the Trazodone, I am 62 years old and have been dealing with symptoms such as your's for most of my life. Through the years I have tried most of the meds out there in a effort to find "The Right One for Me".
I will tell you straight up that ALL of these drugs are dangerous and given ANY OTHER choice I would put NONE of them down my throat!
From experience I have learned that these drugs mess with your brain and eventually turn you into a person even you will not recognize. This is a slow and insiduous process that is not listed as a side effect and not recognized my most doctors.. Better Living Through Chemicals is not the answer as television would have one believe. You think you are miserable now, wait until you have been on these pills a while!
However, I realize that there are certain situations where medical/drug intervention is necessary.
For these I would find that Trazodone is the least offensive among prescribed drugs.
The ABSOLUTE KEY for taking any of these drugs is to TAKE AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE to pull yourself up AND MOST IMPORTANT, TAKE THEM FOR
SHORT PERIODS OF TIME AND THEN GET OFF THEM ASAP!! i cannot stress how important this is.
Long term use of these drugs is extremely dangerous.

It is much easier to change jobs, change your stress levels, change husbands or what ever it takes to keep off these pills that have the potential to ruin your life.

I would like to know if it would be harmful to take a trazodone a couple of hours after taking a trileptal 600 mg?
