I need advice. I am thinking about buying treadmill. I am wondering what would be the effect on the strength training and the weigh loss.

The secret of weight loss is bigger expenditure of calories than you intake, and I am sure that treadmill will help you in that, it is just up to you how much you will exercise.
Building muscles on it...with running, mostly lower legs are developed; I mean if you are running on flat ground, if running in hill, this builds upper legs. Every good treadmill has the possibility to raise the front part, in order to stimulate running up hills. lifting it for 1 % will take 4 % additional runners energy.

a treadmill is fine for cardio vascular fitness but it won't build muscle for you.
