Hi all. I’ve been experiencing infection of the vagina, cervix and urethra lately. Even after taking several meds it did not get any better. I had infections like this before and antibiotic always helped me. But, not this time… Is it possible that the problem is more serious??? How should I treat myself??? Could it be trichomonaisis? I haven’t been at doc because, like I said, I had such infections before and I know exactly what I was prescribed for it. The only problem is that those meds seem not to be working now… Thanks for your comments…

How can you be sure that the cause of infection is same as it was the last time??? Even though such infections do have same symptoms, there are many different causes and therefore different treatments for them!!! From what you’ve wrote, I think that you don’t have “regular” infection but that you have trichomonaisis - STD. It is very important that you visit your doc every time when you have infection, even if you believe you know the reason for it. Only tests can tell the right cause. For example, if you indeed have trichomonaisis there is ONLY one antibiotic that can treat it - metronidazole. Others are simply not effective. So, my advice is – go visit your doc who will then determine the right cause and right treatment for it!
