I am a 28 yr old mother of four and had my tubes tied a year and a half ago after the birth of baby #4.  After the tubal, I started having really heavy periods and doctor recently put me on iron pills.  Although heavy, my periods have always been on time if not early.  I am only 4 days late and know its a little early, but I have taken a home hcg and of course it was negative.  The only time I have ever been late is when I've been pregnant.  And, I feel the same way from previous pregnancies (extremely tired/drained, headaches, moody).  I am currently taking summer courses (which is a little more hectic than taking traditional semester courses), but I really don't feel any more stressed than usual...i only study/devote more time to school work.  Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to what is going on.

**I know tubal ligations are not 100% and if pregnant it could be ectopic.  I am also taking medication that can cause major birth defects if pregnant, so I am just a little freaked out!  PLEASE HELP!

My mother got her tubes tied and she had some trouble with her bleeding that she found rather abnormal. She was also put on some pills, but, after a while, her period actually went away almost completely. I wouldn't worry too much, but if you find the stress to get too unbearable, a doctor's visit never hurts! Good Luck!
