Hi everyone, Two weeks ago I had a drink of alcohol and by the next morning I had a large painful lump on my head - it's since gone down. Now last night I had a can of beer and another lymph node behind my ear has blown up to the size of a marble and is painful too. Only other symptoms I've had is feeling a bit run down and getting really hot at nights. I'm a bit scared of wasting my doctors time by going to see him, so just wondering if anyone has had something similar? Maisie

I'm not aware that you have lymph nodes behind your ear. Lymph nodes are found in different areas of the body but in the head region they would be in your neck. You first lump sounds like you might have hit something when you were drinking and you broke a blood vessel and blood accumulated there. It could be some type of bruise as well. Your second lump sounds to be the same thing. You might have bruised the area behind your ear while sleeping. This has been know to happen when sleeping. You might have had your hand under your ear or had your pillow bunched up in a peculiar way. I've been know to fall assleep on my text books and notes when I was a college student and had a notebook impressions around my ears.
