On March 28,2010 Mark suffered a complete aortic disection, I was told it was one of the worst diesction they had ever seen that someone lived from. Marks was only being treated for slightly high cholesterol,otherwise healthy.The disection was a type a and b he had to have r hip disarticluation along with he had slight r side stroke which he has 98%recovered from he also had to have on his left leg fasciotomys because he lost blood flow to that leg as well ,he at this time can not feel the leg below the calf due to the amount of muscle that had to be removed ,but has had skin grafts and both sides are healing well he can use the leg to stand and pivot now that he is gaining strenght,he also has a r infarcted kidney with a bld clot in the r urethra but all lab values for urine are good ,he was not exspected to get kidney function back but he did he was on dialysis short tearm.Over all he is very very lucky and we are thankful.Oh One other thing he has a conduction issue which we have been told is very treatable and they will do after three months -the Great news is we are going home Friday June 25,2010 my question is has anybody else had this and what is life exspectancy I know everybody is differant but I just would like gen idea what people have delt with.
