Unexplained Bleeding during 2nd trimester

Okay so when i was 12 weeks along I had some heavy bleeding before then i had none so  what was suppose to be a happy xmass moring turneded into a nightmare i wount go into drawn out detail but  by the time i got to the er the  bleeding was worse i was covring the floor in blood sry tim ik..but anyways i had a few ultra sounds and what not the baby looked fine i was kept in the hospital over night and most of the next day which was my anvisery ...so we went home the bleeding stoped i had very light spotting for a day or so then it went away for about three weeks til  i stared spotting again ...i went back to the hospital everthings was fine went home that was a sunday ..monday i woke up went to use the bathroom and had a ton come out but  i just spent the day relaxing on the couch ..by weds i went to the bathroom in the am and i had a clot and a huge rush of blood so i calle the doc he wanted me to come right in even though i had a apt latter that day again everything checked out fine he said i might have placnta priva but most the time that is not detected until 20 weeks ....and the blood is normally bright red with that my bleeding is dark and looks like old blood ....so i have no idea what is going on i only have heavy bleeding in the am or during the night ..after that the rest of the day i sometimes spot light pink blood on and off but only when i wipe ..sry again for the tmi ... i am so scared for my baby i am now 15 weeks and as far as the doc said wends it looks fine and healthy and growing....i had a csection with my first baby and this is tech my third pregnacy bc the first i lost twins and was very early on my second was born by c section and i just hope and pray  i get to meet this baby and have the honor of raising it ...good luck to very one !!!

i m so relieved to read all the posts here....they all are an year old posts but i just cudnt find anything else..!! m 23 week pregnant and hd gone to toilet to clear up the bowel movement when i felt the gush of fresh bleeding , i panicked and went for my U/S n everything was normal, the bleed happened for a minute and now its just brown blood...this is 5th occasion till now and its my first pregnancy and saw sooo much red blood for the first time during my pregnancy..!!!

Im so glad I found this post also. 1st pregnancy at age 38 and a few days ago during week 19 I had very light pink blood when I wiped - 3 times during that week. Then this week I had my ultrasound (day 1 of week 20) and everything is very normal & healthy. When I got home I had light red blood when I wiped. I called the midwife/nurse and she reviewed my ultrasound report from that day and told me everything looks great - but rest for 3 days, perhaps I broke a blood vessel while spring cleaning & carrying heavy trash bags the day before. For 3 days I stayed home and in bed for most of it - did light cleaning, laundry, taxes, brought dogs in yard. Now tonight on day 3 of partial - bed rest I had bright red blood spotting when i went to the restroom - which I did #1 and #2. So Im putting myself on bed rest for 1 1/2 until I go to my midwife appointment. I found comfort with majority of these posts. Im not going to stress or worry for this situation seems unexplained & I hoping most of these posts had good outcomes, because nobody returned to give update. I haven't even needed to use panty liners or anything. Thank you to everyone who posted their experience on here!

Stay in bed rest! Avoid standing and sitting for long hours. You can never really tell if your bleeding is a sign that you would go into preterm labor. Try to observe if you are feeling 'heaviness' on your pelvis and if there is, don't stand up or sit for too long.

My wife's water broke at 22 weeks and the baby did not make it. She's blaming herself for not staying in bed most of the day.

Stay in bed as much as possible. All the best.

I read this post many, many months ago when I had very heavy bleeding (through my jeans while I was driving down the road on a roadtrip!) at 15 weeks. I was so glad to find this post, it comforted me at a time I was pretty scared.

Most of these posts are very comforting, I cannot believe how many people are/were in the same situation. I have been spotting on and off since 15 weeks ( I am almost 23). The doctor cannot figure the reason. I have had 5 u/s and the baby, placenta, fluid and cervix all look fine. It seems that I spot if I am active, last night I went to register and woke up with some spotting. I can still feel the baby moving around. It would be nice to know why this is happening.

I had heavy bleeding starting at week 18 and went to the doctor and emergency room three times because I was so nervous. All the ER trips and doctor's visits showed the baby moving and a steady strong heartbeat. I still felt uneasy and put myself on bedrest. At week 20 my water broke and the baby did not make it. Please take care of yourself if you are experiencing bleeding. The doctors could not figure out what was wrong and to this day I have no idea.

I am currently 22 weeks and 3 days!  I have had random bleeding since I was 13 weeks.  I was admitted to the hospital again for the 2nd time due to severe bleeding and very low amniotic fluid level.  I have been on bedrest since I was 13 weeks.  I have contractions 1 to 20 times per day and I have been placed on medications as well to keep them under control.  I have had an ultrasound every week since 8 weeks and they have never seen a problem with my placenta or cervix.  When I was in the hospital from 13 to 16 weeks they placed a cerclage for prevention.  This is my 7th pregnancy...I have had 3 miscarriages before 12 weeks and 3 live births with my 3rd being born at 22 weeks and passing away.  My last pregnancy was completely normal and different than this one in that my water spontaneously broke while going to the bathroom.  I really thought this time when I hemorrhaged it was over, but they can't find anything wrong other than the low fluid and obvious bleeding.  The doctor who specializes in high risk pregnancies told me that I am a medical mystery.  They believe the low fluid was caused by medication Indosin I have been taking for contractions, but since stopping it it is slowly increasing with the help of constant IV fluids and bedrest.  The doctor is keeping me in the hospital until I am at least 24 weeks.  He said at 23 weeks he is going to start me on magnisium for 24 hours and steriods for babys lung development to prepare her for early delivery.

I am very overwhelmed and emotional about the whole situation.  I am having a little girl which is exciting because I only have boys at home.  I have already gone through the pain of holding my last daughter in my arms during her last minutes and honestly don't think I can handle it again.  Losing a child is one of the worst feelings.  I hope everyone has a healthy baby hope you get the answers you seek about your situation.  It is horrible when not even doctors can give you answers.

I know this is an insanely old post, but I am so thankful that you mentioned the Subchorionic Hematoma because that is exactly what I am going through. I saw a Private Obstetrician who didn't give me a name for it or any details from the report given back from my ultrasound. I am now able to do some research on my own until I see an Obstetrician at the Prenantal Clinic at the Hospital.

I am at 15 weeks, and had a gush of bleeding yesterday around 3:30 pm. The heavy bleeding lasted for half an hour, and after that continued throughout the night just very lightly. I have had no clots, Thank God! I have not had any bleeding this morning, but brown spots. So I am feeling positive that everything is okay. I have an ultrasound booked at the hospital today, they did a mini ultrasound yesterday and said that the cervix was closed and baby's heartbeat and movements were normal. The doctor could not explain the bleeding and also did not put me on bedrest except to refrain from sex. I am praying a lot today.

For me it started already in week 5 with non-stop spotting for 3 weeks straight. In week 6 I did an US and saw the smallest little baby with a good and strong heart beat. I have then continued to have spotting every now and then.

 

Last week (in week 17) I woke up in the middle of night thinking that I wet myself (sorry TMI). I went to the toilet and out came blood, a lot of blood with big clots. NOT a fun way to wake up! After 5 min or so the bleeding stopped. I went to the doctor the next day and she could not see what was wrong. My cervix was closed on examination and the placenta in perfect condition. The baby was doing just fine with a strong heartbeat and good size for her age. Doctor just told me not to do any exercise, not to have sex and to come back if the bleeding happened again. Since then I have had some light spottings but nothing more.

 

These big bleeding scares me to death and to be honest I am having big problems thinking about anything else. Firstly I am afraid to lose the baby, secondly I am afraid that the baby has some kind of problem. I guess, only time can tell.

 

Happily I have started to be able to feel my little one and I get so happy each time the small “bubbles” comes.

 

As many of you others it would be great to hear some stories from people with bleedings who still managed to deliver healthy babies!!!

I to am 13 Weeks and5 days my fifth baby and went to er last night after unexplained gush Of blood that came fr nowhere. After us baby n everything is fine, but I am so worried n I got no reason for the bleeding. After the gush I didnt bleed anymore.

heyy im 26 weeks to and i am haveing the same problem and im on my second baby aswell but i need a anti d needle but i have had one and now bleeding really heavy i bleed at 15 weeks and againg at 17 weeks then 20 weeks now siz weeks later boom im bleeding again but its more heaver then before ..... so im kinda going throught that to but every time i go in theres nothing wrong but i havent been adminted as of yet im going in today to see whats going on......

During my pregnancy with my 2nd child bled from about 10 weeks until about 6-7 months along. Wore a pad daily...not very heavy, but bleeding nonetheless. the Drs told me it was implantantion...even though that as hard to believe, she's 12 yrs old not and it turned out not to b an issue, other than my stress.

Now pregnant with my 3rd child @ 22 weeks, just experienced some spotting when wiped. like everyone else, gonna try not to let it worry me. Pray and trust God.

Im 16 weeks pregnant with my first baby and have spotted for 2 days but has completely stopped now , feel lower abdominal pain when i pass urine, the placenta is low lying and i am also a rhesus negative. I've had 3 ultrasounds and the baby is fine and moving constantly however they feel there may be a clot beside the placenta which worries me. They told me there is nothing anyone can do just wait and let mother nature take its course but for now the baby looks great. Im so stressed because I dont know what tomorrow will bring. Im glad other are experiencing something similar because I could find any information on this online
