Unexplained Bleeding during 2nd trimester

I'm 15 weeks and 4 days and heavy bleeding the last week got 3 ultrasounds this week and baby was fine . Back tomorrow to see doctor they can't seem to find were the bleeding is coming from I can do nothing but worry

I had unexplained, very heavy bleeding at 14 and 16 weeks with my last one. The bleeding was heavier than any period I've ever had and with clotting. It was scary. The hospital basically wrote it off as a miscarriage and sent me home. I was so stressed that it would happen again, it did and worse than before. I went back to the hospital and they checked my vitals and baby was fine. No more bleeding after that. Each time lasted a few days. I did get weekly progesterone shots after that starting at 20 weeks through about 34 weeks as a precautionary measure since my first baby was a preemie at 29 weeks. Both sons, 16 and 1 year are healthy. If you are experiencing bleeding, take good care of yourself and try not to worry. I was so worried when I was bleeding heavily in my 2nd trimester but I went on to have a healthy baby boy and so can you :)

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. You have really helped me with your story. In the past I had a daughter in 2001 and after that in 2008 plus I had 9 miscarriages back to back.
In 2015 I was pregnant and worried about the fate. InBut after having preeclampsia and a horrible pregnancy gave birth to a beautiful daughter who was born 2 months early in Jan 2016 and prematurely. I had to mini strokes and a cardiac arrest with nephrotic kidneys. Etc etc .And baby added to situation by tying knot in umbical cord.
After going home after three weeks release from neo natal , my brother died , then later my cousin and in October my gran.
It was an awful year and the only lining was I was pregnant again.
At 19 weeks and 2 days , Dec 2016 I was sitting on my bed playing with baby when I felt a gush. I was wearing a pad as I was suffering from incontinence and I went to loo. I was so frightened to see all this blood and blood bright red on wiping.
I called the community midwife who told me to go to A and E. I was sent to gynae and really frightened , both my husband and myself testy in A and E worried. We were shown in scan baby active and with strong heart beat.
I went home. Lay in bed and this time two hours later gushed much more blood. Went to A and E and gynae where consultant did a scan and it showed baby active and strong heartbeat.
Then an examination of cervix showed it was closed. No reason was given to why I bled and passed a clot .
I went home . Touch wood all gets better but sometimes things happen and there's no explanation. So be positive. Xx Regina

Hi im 20 weeks pregnant and I'm bleeding the past 6 weeks on and off and ended up in hospital 2 nights ago with heavy gush of blood but baby is fine . it's very frightening hope it stops all together

Well you said it nobody ever comes back to say what happened or the best outcome was etc.! I hope all is well with your issues an concerns

Hello, I am 25 week pregnant now. I saw the first bleeding at 10 week. This was the time when I just knew about my pregnancy as I am irregular at menstruation. Dr said everything was okay so I was not worried but again saw a bleeding when I wipe in a tissue at 17 week. It was a small blood clot and small amount of blood. Dr said that they didn't find anything ans everything was normal. Again it happened in 20 week. I went to emergency as it was Saturday and other Dr service is closed here. At this time too I saw blood tissue in small amount and I was very worried. I had the pain in back and abdomen. Again they said that it looks normal and said to go to hospital if it gets heavy. After 3 day I had appointment to my regular nurse and heartbeat was normal so we thought now as there is no bleeding everything is good. But the same day I saw blood again so I called the nurse and she made a appointment for different other test and I was given Dr appointment for next day.
The next day Dr told that everything was normal but there was blood which came from my vagina. He said that in some women blood vessel is very active in vagina so any stimulation can cause bleeding and there was nothing to worry as all other thing was normal. And the blood was from outside. I was happy to hear this. But again in week 23 I again saw a blood. This time nurse told me not to worry if it's little. Again the same day I again saw it but it was not heavy. I have not been to Dr till now as they said it is normal. I again saw very small like a dot of blood in a tissue today. I have appointment day after. So I hope and pray everything is okay. I am in bed rest although Dr have not suggest me. Each time I work little more I saw a blood so I stopped working as i work in my own business. Let see what they have to say after I explain again.

Hello everyone, Please do not worry. Breathe, deep breathe and all will be well. In my second pregnancy I had heavy bleeding at 25 weeks and I was stressed and worried. Ultrasound was all normal. The doctors just asked me to come for more frequent checks after that. Subsequently, my baby was in a breech position (I had uterine fibroids about 3 years prior to that.) and was delivered by C-section. My baby is doing fine and well and will be 10 yrs old in a couple of years. So all the best to all you beautiful women and to the wonderful people in your lives!

I had this last night i am 27 weeks pregnant and i woke up to bleeding in my pants like a period but nothing after and no pain My baby is still very active though.

I still want to post what I'm going through right now... I'm 16 weeks and 5 days ... two day's ago I woke up at 4am in a huge puddle of blood... Not much pain but the blood just kept gushing out.. Was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.. When I got there I was allowed to go pee and on the toilet I felt the need to push and a chunk of something came out along with few blood clots and I started shaking when the nurses yelled "don't flush it!! Don't flush it!! That's not a clot that's tissue!!" I walked slowly to my room shaking and as soon as I seen my husband I broke down because I truly believed I just had my baby in the toilet and was no longer pregnant.. A doctor came rushing into my room with the portable ultrasound and checked everything out and there was baby just fine and moving around a lot.. I was shocked to see the baby still there and so incredibly happy.. I was feeling intense pain and still bleeding a lot but nobody could tell me why.. Doctors did so many tests but couldn't figure out what was happening.. They just gave me something for the pain.. Told me baby looked perfectly fine.. And there was nothing else that could be done.. Now I'm here at home still having bright red spotting all day every day.. Lower back pains.. Some random cramping.. I'm totally and completely traumatized by everything I can't sleep I'm scared to move around and I burst into tears from time to time .. I'm going to put my email here if anybody wants to talk to give me advice or just talk about your experiences .. Hello I'm 22 weeks pregnant and have been bleeding off and on for the past couple days doctors dont know why. Had an emergency ultrasound done and everything looked fine. Baby is very active and heart rate was in the 140s. I'm pretty concerned as this is my third pregnancy and i have never experienced anything like this. For my other pregnancies the only time I had bleeding was when i was in labor and for my second pregnancy I went into preterm labor at 29 weeks but doctors were able to stop it and then I gave birth at 37 weeks. I found the bleeding to be very abnormal like i only bleed when I use the restroom and sometimes it will be like clots of it and other times its the smallest pink dot and then other times there's nothing there at all... Why is this happening...

Hello everyone,
This is my 2nd pregnancy, I was very active but in my 14 week, as soon as I stood up blood gushed down. I just broke down completely. Was rushed to hospital they gave injection maintain n HCG. Pause tablets. I was there for 3 days. Baby n hb was good in scan. But there was tear in my placenta which was caused by travelling. But now at 16 weeks I'm spotting brown to black discharge.. Again went to hospital but baby n hb was good. Doc told continue injection maintain (progesterone) weekly till January 16. Doc has anomaly scan scheduled on January 16. Fingers crossed...
