I am currently 22 weeks with my third baby. I have never experienced bleeding in pregnancy until now. At 15 weeks I started spotting a week later I was flooding pads. After 10 ultrasounds they noticed that my fluid was low. The bleeding caused a leak in my water. I'm still leaking at 22 weeks and bleeding very heavily. Baby looks great and has since day one. I'm in and out of the hospital, other than being diagnosed with pprom they have no clue what's happening. I have an ultrasound every week and pray we make it at least three more weeks when I can start steroids to help his lungs develop. This is so scary!!!!

Hold on there. Try just bedrest without too much movement. I stayed bedrest for 3 months and honestly speaking, it was really a suffer. However now I am near 34 weeks and I felt all what I did were worthy. Everything for this little angel is worthy. Bless you!

Dear All, my little girl finally arrives at exactly due date and she is super super adorable. Everything is worthy when you hold her in your arms. I am going to leave this thread. I just want to share with everyone that unexplained bleeding during 2nd trimester does not mean that you are going to lose your angel. It just adds a bit difficulties in the story, and make you be very thankful when he/she arrives. Life is sometimes like this~ Hold on there and trust yourself and your little one. You will make it just like me.

I'm currently 24 weeks pregnant. I had bright red spotting for weeks 18-21 with no explanation. My doctor put me on 200mg vaginal progesterone and 1 baby aspirin a day. 2 days after starting no spotting and I feel great. I will more than likely continue this regiment until I give birth.

I'm 24 weeks pregnant and had the same issue as you . i had bleeding but no reason was given as to why it happened. The doctor checked up everything and found everything normal. But still I'm concerned as to how did it happen. Were you able to carry your baby to the last term successfully or was it a preterm baby. Were you doing your regular activities after the bleeding?

Please share your stories. If anyone is went throughout the same thing and gave a healthy birth.

Thanking you in advance for your help.

I started bleeding at 17 weeks exactly. I went in for an emergency visit with my OB but unfortunately he was out of the office and I saw his PA. She did a abdominal ultrasound and a vaginal. She stated all looked good. That the cervix was closed and measured 3.2 and the baby was moving and had a strong heartbeat. She thought it was irritation from my husband and I having sex two days prior and the bleeding should stop. She sent me home with no further testing. Once home I continued to bleed and had cramps. As much as a 2nd day period bleed. I decided to go to the ER two days later. At ER I had a abdominal ultrasound done and a pelvic exam. Baby once again was moving and had a strong heartbeat. My cervix was closed and meassuring 4.5 which was longer than what it measured 2 days prior. They diagnosed me with a threatened miscarriage because of the bleeding, and gave me a list of possibilities of miscarriage that my doctor would discuss with me. Two days later I ended up seeing the PA again for the follow up ER appointment. She made me feel like I was being silly and a bit paranoid for being back again so soon. This time she did an abdominal ultrasound. Baby was fine and moving with a strong heartbeat. She said my pregnancy looked "PERFECT". Especially because my cervix was longer at the ER visit than when she last saw me. I asked her what it was measuring now and she just blew me off. How I now regret not being more persistent with her answering that question. She sent me home with no further testing to be done. I kept bleeding and cramping with horrible back pain. Thinking it was ligament pain and braxton hicks. I saw my actual OB 7 days later. He did a pelvic exam, vaginal ultrasound and abdominal ultrasound. Right after he sent me to have my cervix measured by a tech. From there the tech consulted with my OB and I was sent to labor and delivery. This was at 3pm. I was told that I was going to need a cervical cerclage done. It was scheduled for 9pm with my OB. He arrived late at 9:30pm. By this time I was in extreme pain with stomach and lower back pain. Which, I now know were actual contractions and I was in labor. He examinede on his arrival and consulted with the nurse and stated I was too far along to have the cervical cerclage done. At 10:03pm I delivered Savannah Marie and she survived for three hours. However, she was not developed enough to live any longer. I am devasted and heartbroken. My Husband and I tried for 1year and 3months for our beautiful baby. And now have to plan her memorial rather than her birth. I feel like my OB and his office failed me. I believe they could have caught the need for a cervical cerclage sooner when I first started bleeding. I also feel them taking me off 200mg of Progesterone at 15weeks was a cause of my bleeding at 17 weeks and my preterm birth at 19 weeks 1 day.

I have experienced bleeding as well. This story doesn't have a happy ending. I bled lightly 2 or 3 weeks after I become pregnant,I was told this was normal due to implantation. I stopped for about a week and began to bleed heavily 9 or 10 weeks into my pregnancy. Gushes of blood and golf size blood clots were coming out which seemed to happen more at night waking me up. Each time I thought I was losing my baby girl. I ended up in the Er and was told everything looked fine, baby was fine,I did have a low lying placenta which was thought to be the cause of the bleeding. I continued to bleed heavily after I left ER and ended up back at the Dr office to be checked and everything looked fine. By 21 weeks the bleeding was constant and becoming heavier,I was a wreck on top of this being my first pregnancy. Went back to the DR. And had another ultrasound,it showed that my placenta had moved up,which was good, but now the Dr was puzzled on why I was continuing to bleed,on top of now I became anemic due to all the blood loss and was now put on iron pills. My Dr. Sent me to a specialist to get a level 2 ultrasound which can see more than a regular ultrasound. I went on a Thursday for that and Dr noticed that my fluid was low and that the baby had an enlarged bowel which was thought to be from ingested blood that I was losing. I was an absolute mess, but Dr told me it was nothing life threatening for either myself or my baby girl. I scheduled another appt in a week to check to see if the enlarged bowel went down. I went home and cried the entire night. The bleeding actually slowed down that day but continued on Friday. I was put on bed rest the week before. Sunday morning I woke up around 230am gushing blood and now liquid..we rushed to the Er where I was told my water broke..at this time I was a few days shy of 22 weeks. Apparently I had a slow leak and due to my heavy bleeding I didn't know. I remained in the hospital in hopes the sac would reseal, but by Tuesday morning it did not. So the day before Christmas eve at 22 weeks,I went into labor and gave birth to my baby girl who received her Angel wings that day. It was the worst day of our lives. She was not developed enough to survive. It has now been 8 weeks and I miss her terribly. Dr does not know why this happened. I am being sent to have a sonohysterogram to check and see if I have polyps or a septum which could be a cause for the bleeding. The bleeding caused the lining of the sac to thin and caused my water to break. I'm going next month for this test in hopes to find out something. It has been a tough road. I wish you all the best..

I'm 15 weeks pregnant and had sudden heavy bleeding with clots the other day. The doc sent me to the er and the ultrasound and bloodwork all came up fine. Everything is ok. I do have severel uterine fibroids but the docs still doesn't know where the blood came from. cervix is closed and everything looks ok. I'm very happy for that, just hoping that it doens't happen again.

Hi, thought I'd get on here too maybe we could follow each other's stories. I am 24w2d and have had bleeding 8w-13w which stopped after taking antibiotics, they don't know why I was bleeding tho and thought possible u to. I started spotting with an orange mucous and little bits of blood pieces again at 22w and it has continued everyday since. Been to L&D 2x and saw my doctor(s) 3x now as some days it'll be heavier and some lighter. Every time baby and cervix look great. They are saying its cervical erosion. Basically the lining of my cervix has grown on the outside of it and it's like an open wound. I'm hoping it heals soon as I feel like if I even walk or laugh too much it just starts bleeding again. Last night was heavier than usual with a few small clots. But after I laid down it calmed down, now too scared to get up and walk and see if it's still there. Hoping that my doctors are right in that it's just cervical erosion. I wish it was easier to accept but it's so not when this spotting happens every day
