wow since i was little i thought that i was the only one getting these weird attacks.
i use to get them at random times, but most of the time more when i got sick,
now i am pregnant and i get the attacks everyday. it scares me so bad. it feels like everything
in my body is stiffening then i feel like everything is moving to fast, if i move my body it moves even faster.
i get weird illusions, feeling as if everything is getting smaller or bigger. (it changes from time to time) i just dont know what
to do...

I started getting these feelings when I was a young kid, now I'm 27 and I still get these more than a couple times a year. Everything speeds ups, even though I know from the outside everything looks normal. Also sounds become somewhat amplified and more exaggerated. Example normal typing on the keyboard here sounds like I'm slamming on the keys, I become somewhat surprised that no one is looking at me funny. After reading all the other posts I feel like I'm the only one that actually finds this feeling sort of thrilling and want it to last just a little longer sometimes.

You are feeling the waves that pass across miles and miles when an earthquake hits. Dependant on what you are doing at the time of the event is how frequently you feel it or not. Look up the information on the net. It's published. Seismic Waves. There are Primary and Secondary. If you go on wikipedia you can even see how far and fast they can travel. Not all people react or feel the same experiences. Some peoples hearing gets louder, some get ringing. Feelings of your equilibrium going off like an inner ear infection. Fastness or speed is from the passing of the wave. I hope this helps here are some links.

My daughter (almost 7) over the past year has been complaining about things going really fast and over the past 2 weeks she has said it almost every night as she is trying to get to sleep and thats when I decided to look it up. She describes it exactly as everyone else has done, voices going really fast, her arms going really fast and she says that her hands are lumpy but I can't find a reason behind it.
I have never had this as a child but I did have a weird large/small sensation as a child but have never mentioned it to anyone because they just look at you weird lol.
Glad to have found that this happens to lots of people, I guess my daughter is lucky growing up in the era of the internet and now can understand that she isn't the only one to have this, as most of you have never mentioned this to anyone and have dealt with it by yourself. I have been reading out some of the posts to her.
She does have cereal every night before bed so we are going to cut that out and see if it improves as there may be too much sugar in the cereal and it triggers an attack.
We are going to make a food diary and note when she has the fast attacks and see if there are any pattens. Will post again any findings.

I just turned 40 and just came down from one of these attacks/warps /speed ups.
I have found I get them when I do repetitive small actions, this case was a very long scroll through job listings. I have been getting them since before highschool and usually only about 3-4 times a year now. For those of you that drive and get one pull over as its really scarey driving at what feels like 500mph
I have found the best cure to be a pitch black room with no sound, I have one of these for my migraines - I wonder if the 2 are related.
Well I just thought I would share my thoughts
Kenny
(now running at normal speed)

I am so happy to find this site. My son has had several of these "
fast" episodes in the last month or so. It is terrifying to him. I picked him up from school during one of these episodes and took him to the doctor. She said he was hust experiencing anxiety and if it continue he would need counseling. I keep feeling it is much more than anxiety. It has happened a few times when he was sleeping. and now a couple of times at school. It is nice to see others are experiencing the same thing, but has anyone gotten a diagnosis and been told what they can do to help aleviate these symptoms? What causes it, why is it happening, what can we do to help him?

Ive been getting these all of my life. I have posted on here previously.
The last time I experienced this was last summer...I was in the shower and it just happened all of a sudden...I was washing my hair and I felt like I was rubbing my head all over like a maniac...i went to grab my shower gel and i felt like every movement was a million times faster than normal. I had to get out the shower and sit in my room...my boyfriend asled me what was wrong and I asked him if I seemed different 9something I always used to ask my mum when this happened when I was younger)....he said no, just like my mum always did.
In time, it went away...
I used to tell my mum I felt like I had been possessed by something when it happened...silly I know...but I could never figure out what was happening to me.
So weird.

I really thought I was alone! its kind of fun having other people talking about it. I never talked to anyone about it to anyone cause I really thought they were gonna put me in a special hospital! loll It happened today and I am now 30 yrs old.I would love to know if anyone ever approched a doctor with that question?? does anyone have an explanation? My grand ma too had diabetes..maybe it is related...

Wow, I used to get the same feeling when i was younger and i could never pin point or explain it. I get it like twice a year now and I just recently got it last night. My close friends told me that they have had the feeling before when they were younger. We are all around the same age, i wonder if it is caused by a vaccine we had when we were younger or from something. Its very strange, I hate it but i can control it.

OH MY! I've never heard of anyone who had this same symptom. I've never told anyone about it till now because i never really thought much of it, but I do agree! it is scary and i never really know what to do when it happens! Every time it happens i get this fast sensation in my head but nothing is moving, and i will walk back and forth in my room because it feels kinda cool & i dont know what's going on. I always get headaches afterwards too. & i always, every single time, get this deja vu thought of a dream i guess i had when i was little, where two ladies are yelling at me in a really fast speed but i can never fully make out the image! I'm fourteen and this has been happening off and on for like 5 years, but not often at all

I am yet another who has experienced this. I can remember having these episodes when I was around five years of age and now I am 21. It usually happens a few times a year. It only happens when I am alone or in a quiet place. The strange thing is that it seems to be triggered by repetition. If I have a fan on, the sound of the fan will cause me to feel this.
Everything feels really fast- in my head and also my outer movements. Feels like there is a chattering and sometimes yelling or shouting in my brain. There is a lot of noise that I can't really explain, but really I am alone and only imagining these things. I don't seem to be anxious or scared. But, it usually only happens in the afternoon or night.
Sometimes my hands feels larger and it feels like my bedroom is really small all of a sudden.
It's really strange. I've tried to explain it to other people but they never know what I am talking about. It's really a relief to know that so many people have experienced this. It seems like it should be a well known thing. This should have a name or a cause or something! I really wish that some doctor or someone would explain this all to me. Because it doesn't seem normal...
It's really frustrating actually because it seems like it will always remain a mystery. Even though it doesn't harm my life or really bother me- I would like to know what it is and why it happens. It kind of intrigues me and I would prefer if it didn't stop. It is kind of exciting to have this sensation.
It's really hard to explain... I just wish we all knew why this was happening.

I've been getting this feeling for a while now too! I did not know that other people had it...every time I would try to explain it no one else understood and they just laughed so it's good to know i'm not alone!
I have NO clue what it is and would love to know what causes it. I just got it last night and about three weeks ago too. Hmm

I cant believe all these other people have this. I use to get these everytime I took a test mostly on math tests and it felt like my brain was speeding up so fast I could not think. I was looking up this today because I also have problems where I will be laying down or sitting and suddenly feel like the room is moving (just found out that one is most likely vertigo). I can belive I did not look these up years ago. I have had them since I was very young and now only get them when I am stressed.
