Couldn't have described it better I used to get it as a kid and just now had an episode I thought I was the only one. Such a weird feeling I used to get really upset and tell my parents I was 'going fast' now I can kinda just sit there and wait for it to stop...definitely not a nice feeling, have heard some people describe it as a type of derealisation disorder?? would be interested to know if anyone has any ideas why it happens??

I'm experiencing this right now I feel as though everything is moving so fast in my brain I've tried breathing exercises everything but all I needed was reassurance that it's not just me.

Just experienced this for the first time in years....I'm 21 years old but I distinctly remember having this occur frequently when I was younger....whenever I laid in bed or closed my eyes it would happen. Now it just happened again and I got so freaked out I went on Google to find out more and reading this definitely calmed my mind down. If anyone knows what the exact cause is or if there is a specific medical term for the sensation, please let me know!

I just had one of these episodes in like 20 years! OMG, i have been having them since i was a child and then it just stopped. Now, today, I had one and I went on the internet to see if there was any reasonable diagnosis and then i realized i was not alone. Feel so relieved...please let me know if anyone gets a true diagnosis.

This has happened to me all my life especially when I was younger it has happened a little more frequent then I would like it to (just because it's scary and I don't know how to describe it to anyway). I'm 17 now and I've experienced it sporadically both when I'm happy and sad. Many of you have said that it feels like your thoughts are racing through your head and that same thing happens to me.
It's weird that everyone else knows what I'm feeling. I'm not too concerned just want answers to help cope or be able to make it go away.

Me too!
I just got out of this feeling which lasted about 5-10 minutes tonight. It hasn't happened for years but this was a strong one. Everything was super fast but I think I was moving slower than normal even though it felt like everything was rushing. The water for pasta I was making seemed to be so loud and rapid (much more than normal). I couldn't get out of my own head and finally called my boyfriend and walked outside. Once I heard his voice it all slowed down and I cried because I was afraid and slightly embarrassed that I didn't have control over what I was perceiving in my mind. If that makes sense.- Monica Age 32 & 12 weeks pregnant. This has been occurred since I can remember though.

I use to get the same sensation! Like everything around me was speeded up.. Like when you hit fast forward on a DVD player. I use to get it when I would be stressed when I was younger and I just thought it must be a panic attack. I have only had it a couple of times as an adult. When it happens I just zone out from what's going on around me and focus on one thing and that seems to stop it.

Its strange because I get the same thing and I'm 15 but it all started in a dream and in the dream it was happening.

Oh my god I just had it end for me just then and I went to search up what it could be and I found this! I'm over the moon I've found other people who experience the same, I never really told anyone about it. I'm 17 and I've had it for years and years but it seems more frequent now. I think it might be related to stress and anxiety as I already have S.A.D and depression. I also went into ER this week for problems with my heart due to stress. I tried telling my doctor but I burst into tears he thinks it might be something like dissociation of that helps any of you but I've got another appointment to try find out, I also had an MRI and everything looks visually ok

The same thing happens to me about twice a week (18 years old) only I feel like my body isn't moving fast enough to keep up with the world and I sometimes hyperventilate! I would really like to understand this!
