Hey all. I have experienced this on and off throughout my life. It normally starts off as a strange feeling of anxiety. Noises become louder, and I feel like I struggle to concentrate. I think it might be anxiety or something of that nature. I had an episode of it this morning. I woke up with a headache, which always seems to exasperate the problem. Maybe it's a mild form of a migraine perhaps. Glad it's not just me.
Have a great day all.

I used to get this when I was a kid, mostly when I was playing lego oddly. Hasn't happened for years. I used to hear unintelligible voices shouting as well

I can't believe this many people go through the same thing that I did and still do sometimes. I had a bad spell last night and it freaks me out bad. I thought I was gonna die. But then I thought I dreamed it all. It's all so surreal!

I too get this feeling, I was diagnosed with left temporal lobe epilepsy with ictal arrthmya 4 years ago although before my diagnosis I was having these feelings on a regular basis, then I began having full seizures, blackouts and my heart was stopping for up to 20 seconds a time I had pacemaker implanted to keep my heart rate normal as it was 25 beats a minute due to my brain not controlling it properly. I would recommend anyone who has these feelings to see your GP or neurologist just to rule out epilepsy. Im still not seizure free now although I was told that I'm a tricky patient to treat lol. Good luck everyone!!

I'm happy nothing is wrong with me (I'm 15) this happened a lot when I was a kid but it wasn't scary I thought it was cool but it stop when I turned 10 but I just had one last week it scared me because I thought it only happened when I was off my meds (concerta) I have ADHD I thought it was because my brain was wired differently but since non of you have ADHD then I guess I was wrong

Oh sh*t I thought I was the only one and I'm so shocked to see that this happens to so many other people. I'm 13 and this has been happening since I had this dream of everything going so so fast and it has been happening occasionally since then, I actually searched this up because I literally just had the fast feeling and I really want to know why it's happening

I have gotten this too most of my life. I am 38 andnit hasnt happened in a few years. I feel like now I am super sensitive to people who are angry and talk fast and loud. I just can't handle it. I was not okay with this feeling ever, I would hide and cry in a ball and pray in a panic until it would stop. Mine could last up to 15 minutes. I remember telling my doctor when I was about 8 and he laughed at me and made me feel crazy so I didn't tell anyone for a long time after that. It's horrible for a child because they suffer this alone. I was wondering if any of you had some sort of traumatic experienc in early childhood? As an adult I associated this with early trauma and PTSD and began to believe it was a stress disorder. Of course I could be totally wrong, I just know I have some childhood PTSD and was wondering if the two could be linked somehow. Anyone else might have had an early childhood trauma? At least we no longer have to suffer this alone and can share this with eachother. Thank you for sharing your stories. Also if you are a young person reading this, know that this seems to get much better and often even goes away completely as you age.

The craziest thing here is that we've all gone through the same thing and no one can put their finger on what it is or what causes it exactly.
I used to experience them a lot when I was a child, it didn't really bother me I just thought wow this is strange.
I had one about 3 years ago at the age of 28 and it freaked me out, lasting about 10 minutes, this kept happening for a few weeks and I started smoking cannabis again and haven't had one since. When they resurfaced after all them years it was when I had a 6 month break from smoking, I don't wish to encourage people to smoke or take drugs but I beleive there's a clear link. Hope someone can once and for all find out what the answer is

I got hit by a car, I was unhurt but in a little shock from what I remember. I believe it could be a contributing factor to the spiderman episodes as I call them. I used to get bad night terrors and the doctor said it's probably from the accident but the spidy episodes didn't bother me as a kid so I didn't talk about them. My brother has experienced it once which is odd I think, something in the genes maybe

I just woke from that horrible feeling just now and my research brought me here. I've had that same feeling since I was a kid. I'm 32 now and it's still disturbing. Like I'm moving in slow motion but everythng around me feels like it's mivibg at the speed of lightning even tho I can see it's not. It's like an in-your-face feeling even tho sometimes it feels like my vision is getting smaller and further away and if I step out of my slow motion space I'm going to get sliced up by the fastness around me and I get this horrible feeling like I'm in danger. So I just try to sit still and wait until it passes.
