I'm now 15 and I normally get this every month or so, it's like my body is in constant alert and everything is going at a fast motion pace. Sounds seem more louder and I hear my own voice shouting or saying threatening things, I was first worried about this but I've now realised it only lasts 5 to 10 minutes and I just wait out the time. I've tried lots of things to get it to stop quicker because I really don't like the voices shouting and makes me feel like I'm having a panic attack. As soon as it is over my mood Changes from begin alert and very paranoid to back to my usual self in a matter of seconds.
If someone could please explain why this happens or what causes it would be very helpfull as I've told my parents and friends but they either think I'm not telling the truth or just think I'm crazy

I used to get this quite a lot when I was younger, it would mainly be when I was trying to get to sleep. It would feel as though everything was moving fast including my thoughts, also I would feel as though I was getting smaller in comparison to everything around me. It doesn't happen as often now (I'm 16) I've never tried to explain it to anyone as I wouldn't know how but relieved to know it doesn't just happen to me. I'd love to know what causes it.

This definitely sounds like a case of Alice In Womderland syndrome. While the name sounds like a joke, I assure you it's not. If you do some research it will show pretty much all of her symptoms. I am probably a few year late, sorry!

The Dr who answered this is wrong. I've experienced this when I was younger and only up until about 14 years old. Would get the sense everything I was doing (not everything around me) and thinking was super fast. It was not ever associated with any of the other Alice In Wonderland symptoms. It was very random and would only last a max a couple of minutes.

I sometimes get this too! or something like it at least, but does it get really annoying and loud and i can't listen to music or anything, does this happen to anyone else?? There's also times where my thoughts 'feel' weird, like i cant really explain it but its like the thought has a 'shape' or something and sometimes it'll look really hard and sharp but feel soft, and sometimes my thoughts will suddenly get all smooth and calming and it makes it harder to process stuff when that happens, anyone else get this too??

I used to get this a lot as a kid... I would refer to it as the 'Dream Feeling'. I never told anyone about it because it was too hard to explain and I felt crazy whenever I tried. I believe I was 12 when I finally explained it to my dad. I had never thought to tell anyone before because it never felt like an issue. The only reason why I told him was because my little sister was crying and told me she was in a dream. She tried her best to explain it to me and I realized it was the same thing so I went and told my dad. I told him that it felt like I wasn't real and that whatever was dark was darker and lights were lighter. I also said that my insides felt numb and that everything was faster and when people talked that they should slow down. He told us that he used to get it too, sometimes when driving. We felt really relived knowing that we weren't alone, it was weird because we hadn't thought to mention it to each other even though we were all experiencing it and living together.

We decided to google it. We typed in 'Fast feeling' and this site was the first thing that popped up. We were so happy to hear that it was happening to lots of people. Four years later and we're waiting for a diagnosis. The woman who spoke with us seems to think it's an Absence Seizure. I googled it and it seems fairly close, except ours lasts longer and I feel like I'm aware of my surroundings. Absence Seizures seem like day dreaming and happen for 10 to 20 seconds.

I get the Fast Feeling too. Closest thing I've found is Absence Seizure. Absence Seizures last 10 to 20 seconds (mine seem to last minutes, like yours) and quick breaths can trigger them. I get them when I'm doing hard physical activity/when I didn't get enough sleep.

Omg! I can't believe someone else feels this weird feeling and described it so well! I'm 18 and it doesn't happen too often but when I was younger it did happen more frequently. I called them "fast attacks".
