I used to get this feeling all the time when I was a young girl of around 8. I would try and explain it to everyone around be but got strange looks from them so stopped talking about it. I would look at something while lying in bed and it was like looking through binoculars the wrong way around. As had the fast feeling and feeling small and big at the same time. I looked this up today because my twin boys have started to get it, they are 9. I still get it sometimes and I like the feeling now. I can now concentrate at will and bring on the " everything looks small and far away" thing. The www is a great tool. Wish I could have looked this up when I was 8. (46 now)

Hello! I experience the exact same thing. I didn't know others did too. It can be hard to understand if you haven't experienced it personally.

I too have experienced the fast feeling but not since I was young.....preteen....I am now 33 years old...cannot remember the last time it happened. It used to scare me...one time my little brother even said my voice sounded different! There was always something about hands...being huge and fat ....but narrow at the same time. And migraines....I had chronic migraines from childhood until I was about 31 or 32 years old ....started seeing a really amazing chiropractor. I went from migraines weekly to maybe once a month if that. Mostly just get headaches now and again. So glad I finally decided to research it and found that I'm not alone...I never really told anyone bc I was sure people would think I was crazy...it sure made me feel that way! Good to know it has a name too.

Hey, this has been happening to me since i was very little, I dont know what age but everything would go very fast OR slow (the slowness was rare) Do you know what this is called? It might have something to do with Anxiety or panic attacks but im not sure..

I Get that feeling a lot, and I'm currently 14 years old. It feels like everything around me is going very fast and my mind is just kind of racing. Like when I blink, I know I'm blinking at a normal speed, but my mind thinks I'm blinking very fast.. It's really strange.. I particularly get this feeling when I have a fever.

Omg i thought i was the only one having it. I don't remember when it started but i have it as long as i can remember and sometimes i have it once in a week and sometimes i have it once in a year, most of the time when i'm concentrating. Then it's like i start thinking without actually thinking and the words in my head go so fast, i can't control it, and it lasts like 20min and then it's gone.. i can't explain it .. but i think you get what i mean .. gahd it's such a relief that there are other people that have the same symptones.

I'm so happy I'm not the only one. It just happened to me and it hasn't happened for a while (I'm 15). Like most of you it happened more when I was younger.

Reading all these replies made it stop. I once tried to tell my mam but she didn't understand. Good to know I'm not crazy.

OMG, I am having this feeling right now! I can't believe anyone else gets this! I have been having it since I was about 7 years old. It usually lasts for around 10-20 minutes, sometimes it gets really bad. Like right now, I am typing really really 'fast'. And one more thing, when this happens to you guys, does anyone else think that everything is louder as well?

I'm 18 now, and same thing has happened to me when I was around 14-15. I've experienced it 3 or 4 times, I do not remember. The first time it happened it freaked me out, my heart was racing, but after that I already knew what it was and could stay calm. It has only happened during night, around 2-3 am, so I assumed it had something to do with lack of sleep or sth like that. The weirdest thing is that once I forced myself into this state, I noticided that if I hear nothing (another reason why it only happened at night) and I start breathing faster, it almost feels like this state, just very very weak, so I tried experimenting, I just focused at the sound of my own breathing, and just tried to feel, tried to remember what that state feels like, I was already in it before I could realise. It's kinda good to know that other people have experienced it as well, I'm not the only one :)

Hello everyone, I'm one of you and I think I have found the solution. I have had this problem too with everything going fast or sometimes slow, I don't know why I could experience things slow. When everything was going fast I could kind of think to myself and switch it around(also I don't experience things becoming smaller or bigger, I do experience dizziness). Anyway, I had this when I was young (around 7-13 yrs old) (I have adhd and mild add) I was jumping around on the trampoline when I got this feeling, after a while of being outside and not coming inside to eat or drink. That's around when it kicked in. But then, it started happening less frequently, suddenly one day when I was 14 years old it happened again, it happened twice I think when I was 15, now I'm 16 and it just happened again, I think I have found the answer.

It's possible that this is related to: not getting enough sleep, dehydration, not eating sufficient, Stress, ect.
I came to this conclusion when I was in Thailand. It was blazing hot and I was sitting in my room, I went to bed late and woke up late, I was sweating, thirsty, and hadn't eaten nor drunk anything yet, that's when the feeling kicked in.

Now, I'm kind of in a stressfull situation, last night I went to bed late (2.30am) and I woke up late for school 7:50 (school starts around 8) I showered put on my clothes and went to school immediatly, I didn't eat breakfast nor did I drink anything, now school finished and it's 12:07am and I just got that feeling suddenly.

The exact same thing happens to me! It used to happen more frequently when I was little and then went away, but it just started happening to me again today (I'm 20 now) so I finally googled it. I had no idea other people had the same thing.

usually it would come on at a random time like i vividly remember it coming on when i was 12 i was walking down a street by myself then i kinda realised something was wrong like i was the only person around, randomly i started talking to myself in my head really weirdly and get hooked on something simple like a tune or a sentance that would mean nothing, repeating myself over and over until i feel like everything was hapenning fast in my head but time was slowing my heart rate was average and i felt tipicly normal, then the voice in my head got so loud and quick i couldnt understand anything to a point it would just be loud screaming then a wierd twitch and then nothing it just stops. i went to google search this whilst i was having the fit or watever this was found this comment list and started to basicly describe what happens whilst its hapening to get the best description on what happens when i have this weird sensation. if anyone knows what this is or anyone knows what i should do please comment...
