I am getting ready to go in for my second tummy tuck and abdominal repair surgery on August 10 to get my swelling to go away. My tummy tuck was 3/22/14 - the swelling started 8/15 after I had a small minor medical procedure.

I'm 5 years Post tummy tuck and I started swelling and looked pregnant 6 weeks afterwards. Nothing has changed and the doctor said he didn't know what was wrong with me. Said he's never seen something like this yet I've read thousands of posts with the same problems. Muscles are too tight and I can't even do Pilates without muscle spams!

I feel the same way. I wear a size 10 jeans when I used to wear a 4. I have a golf ball size bump above my belly button and I lost so much sensation in my abdomen and I am 1.5 years post TT-
I am miserable and completely regret it. I sleep with a pillow too.

Hi,
Did you ever find any relief from your pain. You're issue mirrors mine exactly. It's been 11 months and actually has gotten worse. Did you try acupuncture ? I truly hope you are better as I totally get it. I still hopeful that someone will be able to help

I had a tummy tuck in 2006 with muscle repair I have had nothing but issues since ! My stomach is distended, bloating , pressure above belly button , feeling full can barley eat anymore , anxiety etc . There is a hard mass above my belly button that worried my dr sent me in for a emergency CT scan with IV and oral barium came back normal he said that a lot of scar tissue . That was a year ago and my problems have only gotten worse I don't even wanna eat anymore because I feel like I already have 24/7 ! I don't recommend this surgery to anyone!

Out of the blue I thought I would google large belly after tummy tuck and came across this thread. Wow, I had my surgery Feb 2014 and am getting right back to where I was before surgery. Thin, but firm belly that looked like I was 8 months pregnant. Perfect basketball size. I will admit, I don't exercise or eat healthy and didn't prior to surgery, but had 2 kids. I often wonder if I started to exercise if it would help, but then seem to think that something is wrong internal. I had a colonoscopy done and ultra sounds but nothing.

Sorry to say this but I am glad to read your post. I have the same issues, feels like the nerves are going insane in the area at times, plus just full on digestive issues. I am terrified I've done major damage to my stomach, digestive system or pancreas. Sometimes the pain is deep and sometimes it is on the surface. My doctor thinks I am a head case. I didn't bother trying to get help from the surgeon as he got his money and just brushed me off. It's a stupid surgery that shouldn't be done in such an extreme manner. Just take off the hanging skin but leave the deep muscles alone.
